Wads with plots

#1

Post by someoneelse » Thu Dec 06, 2012 3:18 pm

I enjoy a lot wads with some storytelling, scripted dialogues and cutscenes, some missions to do, stuff like that. Those are most often total/partial conversions or jokewads, I love them all. I don't know too much of them though, and there is no such cathegory or tag to seek in idgames archive, so I'd be thankfull for some suggestions!
Ones I already know:
Total/partial conversions (not sure about last one): Unloved, Action Doom, Batman Doom, Massmouth, Town Infection, Zen Dynamics, Cold As Hell
Jokewads: Community Is Falling series, those forums/IRC channels parody wads (I wonder if anyone will ever do #zandronum one), do-tims, Gag Doom
Shared keys will now be in Zandro! Thanks devs for their work, and users for the support!

Just keep in mind that plot in tribute doesn't make any sense by design :)

If you wish a WAD with strongly developed plot I recommend RTC-3057:

Sadly only one episode got made and the WAD ends on a cliffhanger.

I've often wanted to find a story that isn't the same old, hell, mars, demons etc...

Btw Zalewa I've been meaning to ask, did you make the building textures in tribute, or where did you get them?

I don't remember where I got these textures from exactly. I know they're also used in one of GvH maps (Silent Stalker). I remember that when I was looking for appropriate city textures I visited realm667 and searched /idgames archive for texture pack keywords but I don't know where I eventually found them.

Worth it. However you must use the latest GZDoom since the author is using features zandronum has not got, none of the less it is an awesome wad.
