I am curious what binds do you use... Normal controls and macros, everything :) I use what I use, but I am not sure it's optimised...

Moving- WASD <- of course
Shooting- LM <-of course
Open - MM <- Donno why, it makes more resistance so it matches more for some reason O_o
Jump- q <- I know, all pros jump with space, right? I play on netbook, so space is too close for me.
Crouching/Fly down- e <-I set macro so crouching would double as flying down, since obviously it isn't used so much and having it there is instinctive
Taunt- f <-close to wasd :)
Spectate - u <- so I won't touch it by mistake
Talk - Enter <- a lot more convenient and also instinctive to use
Team talk - t
Query item, use item, next item, previous item- op[]
Alt fire- depending of mood, r or right mouse
sr-50 - right mouse (I used tutorial from cutstuff, though, I have read you can set sr-50 in a way that lets you turn. WANT IT PLZ)

OK, tell me if I do anything wrong and share your bindings!

I just did a copy paste and changed it to mine cus I'm a lazy one.

Movement: WASD
Use: Space
Fire: Mouse1
SR-50: Mouse2
Altfire: Left ctrl
Chat: T
Team chat: Y
Jump/fly up: Left shift
Crouch/fly down: F
Taunt: E
Chasecam: H
Show scores: Q
Change to my default name = 8

And a few chat binds that I hit by accident and embarrass myself haha :razz:

I don't use any extra bindings just the normal controls.

Movement: WASD (recently moved from arrow keys)
Use: Mouse 3 (wheel)
Fire: Mouse 1
Alt-Fire: ' (though I really should move it to something more usable)
Chat: Y
Team Chat: U
Crouch: Ctrl
Jump: Mouse 2
Taunt: K
Chase: H
Add bots: 0
Show scores: Tab
Map: #
And weapon cycle is mouse 3.

I really don't think that is possible given how it's actually set up. If someone could actually turn while attaining SR-50 speeds, then there would be an SR-60 available out there (if you understand the principle behind how SR-50 works)




For my configs, pretty much the norm except:

Forward: right mouse
SR 50 L/R: Q and E
Use: W

Concluding, interesting posts, it looks like some advanced players prefer to have move in the middle of keyboard for a good access, and there is no some one most optimal solution for everyone :)

No, we're not cheating. SR50 automation means that you will always SR50, but if you move your mouse to turn, then it will automatically turn off SR50 without your having to do anything. You have the advantage of speed without the disadvantage of no turning.

Mouse5 (Other side) = Mod-specific actions
Scrollwheel = Swap weps if I don't know their numbers in mods
WASD = Movement
Shift = Crouch + Fly Down (Alias)
Space = Jump + Fly Up (Alias)
E = Use
Q = Run/Walk
Z/C = Previous/Next Inventory Item
X = Use Inventory Item
R = Reload in mods that use those
Tab = Automap
F11 = Toggle HUD and AltHUD
F10 = Toggle freelook/no autoaim and nofreelook/autoaim
I guess it's not "competitive" without SR50 binds in there but eh, I've gotten too used to this

E for reverse rocket, Q/R for alt-fire, right click for jump/fly up, no sr-50 bind because idabes
Everything else is default (except crouch which is modified to fly down as well)

well PRBoom+ has the ability to sr50 while turning, while still maintaining vanilla compatibility, so iunnooooooo

I'm not Qent but I guess he's using external macro programs. My favorite one that I can recommend is AutoHotkey.
