I agree, just give them a chance to prove themselves.

I actually disagree. This is a way of thinking that has proven to be ineffective in the past. To reduce yourselves as staff/leaders/managers in whatever medium you're a part of to the level of the individuals 'acting out' is only showing your own ass and does not promote any level of respect as has been proven in the past.

I agree with Xenaero's disagreement, to a degree...

Moderators & Admins are expected to present a "professional" demeanor. However, when faced with very aggravating circumstance it's understandable that some aggravation may show through. Idealistic expectations are rarely met. People do need to vent frustrations, as a matter of being human. Rules against human nature are the tools of the Police State...

When the blood boils, a safe bet is to step back for a moment and chill, then try to limit responses to only facts when calmly applying moderation. A ban can wait for the simmering to stop, if anything the offender will only deserve a ban more; Then you'll be more ready to try "killing them with kindness".

I suppose there are private places to rage against the social machine, but it's really hard not to feed the trolls: They're starving! (for attention)

Not that anyone should feel justified in lambasting others, it's just that I'd suggest we show a little understanding to the mods who have a tough job and not go picking at such inconsequential statements or starting flame wars if they show that they're a little pissed off.

The fact their ban-posts aren't composed of 95% swear words is an accomplishment in of itself.

TL;DR: Try to have a bit of understanding; Remember: Almost everyone's human...

I think that by general standards, the Skulltag community is doing fine. In fact, compared to other communities, Skulltag is a bliss of innocence and rainbows. The admins and mods are doing a good thing by starting again and being open about it. People now know what to expect and what is going to happen.

If you expect any revolutionary changes, you're shit out of luck. This is a Doom Community, and although ports come and go, the people will always be the same.
