Well,

All of you can rest assured that this is going to happen.

I'm in discussions with some big high end PC gaming computer manufacturers to supply us with 15 super high end machines to play on, so there will be no slowdown in monster heavy maps.

Since this year is DOOM's 20th anniversary, I will likely be able to get ID and Bethesda's to support it as well.

I'm pretty sure it is going to be entertaining for anyone to watch because when the panic sets in and players start dying it will be pretty funny to see people getting pissed.

I'll keep the board posted as I figure all this out.

Tell these high end machine suppliers to use nvidia cards, there is nothing wrong with AMD/ATI (am an AMD user myself) in general but they do struggle with opengl and very large and detailed maps on Zandronum, even the most recent ones (I've seen frame rate drops on my 7950 for instance).

I can affirm that. The backend OpenGL pipeline Zandronum uses is from another opensource project, GZDoom, which was developed with nVidia cards in mind. Though my AMD/ATI GPU doesn't bump into much trouble with it, it's usually a safer bet to use those.

Good luck with id and Bethesda, the classic Doom series seems like it needs a little boost after all these years. If you can get Doom 2 to be released for free that would be great, as the version of Doom 2 released with the Doom 3 BFG Edition isn't compatible with any other version online from what I've been told.
