I know it's probably not gonna happen, but it would be better than the current crappy versions. Like, have it as a free downloadable game engine or something.

Maybe for 360 when microsoft abandon it like the first xbox, because with zandronum you mean you want to play online, playing online it means you´ll play with some mod (if not you´re going to use odamex).

And since (i think) +- 90% of the mods would get copyright problens, it would be impocible to port zandronum, not counting the fmod license (I don´t think it´ll be free for a console),...

I think if you REALLY want to play zandronum on a portable and on a "console".
Better buy a windows 8 table or a mini-itx case

Ok, I figured. You want to make an exclusive game for a console using zandronum's engine, huh?

Zandronum (and ZDoom (also even DOOM.EXE)) has full Joystick, Gamepad and Controller support. What's wrong with just using one of them?
I myself even just used an original PS2 controller with a USB adaptor. They cost like $10 to $20 in ebay.
It's not also that hard to set up a PS3 or XBox 360 Controller. There are like 437586 tutorials online.
And if you don't have either, even USB Controllers for PC are fairly cheap. Any with full 2-stick Analog will do.

So really, there isn't a need for it to be ported to a console.

And lastly, if your analog inputs are a little out or wrong, it all can be fine tuned in the ini file, or even through console commands. (Don't ask me what, I cannot remember)
