I have been planning to add fire deaths on my Ketchup mod, and I noticed this. Why does rockets have the burn damage? Any specific reason?
Edit: I noticed that they have FIREDAMAGE flag, which makes no sense
Why does Rockets have the "Burn" damagetype?

RE: Why does Rockets have the "Burn" damagetype?
because red armor in skulltag
RE: Why does Rockets have the "Burn" damagetype?
That's not it. Red Armor protects against Rocket, Grenade, and Fire damagetypes.

Legacy reasons, in all likelihood. Like, say, before Red Armor protected against all of those.
This should probably be added to the tracker as a bug. Maybe a compatflag could be added in case any ancient mods used this, but I doubt there'd be an significant differences anyway.

If you do that, then the next question will be "How does ZDoom do it?" And then "Why can't you just change it in your own mod?"
RE: Why does Rockets have the "Burn" damagetype?
It doesn't give it a damage type, and because Smiv is making a mod intended to work with as many or things as possible. Replacing the rockets could cut off support with some other mods, so it's not exactly ideal. Unless he's done so already, anyway.
I still think, though, that this is something that should be changed since it's a rather silly inconsistency that doesn't really serve any purpose. There's nothing in normal DOOM or Zandronum that even reacts to fire damage, so it's just kind of purposeless.
