Why Doom?
RE: Why Doom?
Hmm, being born in march '93, could I count as "there from the beginning"?
Anyways, my father and his friends played this and other FPS a lot and Doom was one of the first games I remember playing.
It was interesting to see him doing LAN parties at our house, and I remember taking part once, but it's a but fuzzy in my memory.

RE: Why Doom?
I remember playing Doom 2 MAP06 when I was five. I play on UV and when I confronted the Spider Mastermind, I used cheats lol XD. It was my first FPS game

RE: Why Doom?
This is the first FPS game I've ever seen, watching my dad going through the 3 episodes of Doom. The year 2000 is where I actually played through the shareware episode whilst having constant urges to run into my closest because of how scared I was (I was 6 playing this in summer!). It was a great experience.

RE: Why Doom?
During my years at the aerial fighting acdamy, my father showed me a Playstation 1, then he handed me the controllier and tried to comforted me.
When I started playing it alone, it got scary as I tried out the Nightmare difficulty and I dared not to play it again, that is how realistic Playstation Doom can be.
However, soon I started getting into it and the addiction kicks in, resulting me into a airborne fighter whose past-time involves playing DOOM. Also becoming a know-how on secrets in EVERY Doom I and Doom II secret.

My first doom game XP

RE: Why Doom?
I'd go with this one, as I'm the younger side of the Doom player (if any, excluding pure BD players). I have a "vintage" (more like ancient) computer that'll never likely see an upgrade and this was the few options for PC gaming. While it's not as good as some games (due to the fact they were my childhood) this game is pretty freaking sweet. Getting some skill into basics of scripting and mapping. There was a point in my life Doom was the only good game my crappy computer could run.

I like big puns and I can not lie.
RE: Why Doom?
Pops used to have LAN parties with his buddies playing deathmatch - I was 3 or 4, it was when Doom 95 was still fairly new. I picked up on it by just being around it.
