Causing car accidents and shit.

My girlfriend is 100% addicted. We went on a 3 hour hike yesterday so she could find stuff. I haven't even downloaded it yet.

Sorry, I don't want to be a data mining agent for Google unless they pay me for it.

I play it. I understand why it's being shit on, but it's a nice exercise to be honest.

Tried it, was pretty fun at first but became a chore pretty fast. Stopped when I realized that you have grind daily to keep up. Basically whoever started the game first will always be at a much higher level than everyone else since there is no level cap for a pokemon. Game's missing key things like battling your friends, challenging strangers, etc... Not to mention the spam of 3D models everywhere is cancerous to most phones. Their battery saver option just makes the screen go black if you hold your phone upside down, lol. The worst part is definitely battling, it's not turn-based like everyone is used to - instead it's been changed to a real-time system and you're basically just tapping and swiping your phone as frantically as you can to spam/dodge attacks. In one way the combat system is cool because you can battle with multiple people at the same time, but then again, I'd sacrifice that for a 1 v 1 turn based system any day.

Best part is going outside and catching pokemon, well when it's safe to go outside. Meeting other people and then destroying their gyms is always fun.

Originality? 10/10 - Cool stuff
Gameplay? 5/10 - Average. They tried to make pokemon battles like the show instead of the game.
Replay Value? 4/10 - You're basically gonna be useless against everyone if you stop playing for like a week.

The game wasn't made by Game Freak, it was made by Niantic, Inc., a creation of Google that claims to be an independent entity.

It seems like a interesting idea with mediocre execution. There's a high chance the game will be just be a passing thing, like all fads.

It just seems so lame compared to actual Pokemon games.

I agree. But lame or not, it is entertaining to see some of the things resulting from GO:

It's a cool app but people take it too seriously, I've seen so many people travel from city to city just to catch some Pokemon which is a bit too much in my opinion.

I love it, already at a lvl 13 trainer. I also went to the park 4 days in a row at night, and there is a good number of people who are also pokemon hunting. app made Nintendo 7 billion dollars on July 11th alone.

EDIT: Also when the next update comes out, I believe they are talking about adding, Trading, wild pokemon Battling and 1v1 battles.
