What kind of festival do you like / do you usually visit (in your country)?
Hey guys, I thought about this subject as I love festivals.
Today for example, I'll go here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dd4UE9nplOM
This is a small festival in a forest in Germany, I try to go there every year with my friends.
As this is a "worldwide"-comunity, tell me about your festivals.

Anything with great music and great drugs. Strangecreek, Gathering of the Vibes, etc.
I also attend the local farmer's markets around here (i live in a rural area) and support the hard-working families. :)

Beer festivals mostly, I've been to a few local ones. Must admit the only huge festival I went to was at sonisphere the beer is shit though, but I am hoping to go to Oktoberfest next year. EDIT: Crap didn't read the bit about only in your country. We have Download festival which has a variety of music which I've heard is pretty good and plan to go to at some point, Sonisphere is quite good if you like metal. We also have rhythms of the world (bongs are quite cheap there, looking at aenima). Strawberry fair in Cambridge I went to a couple of times which I also found to be a laugh.

Yep definitely, I have to start going to more festivals it was a good experience, I originally went for Pendulum but decided to go for the weekend. Yes Rammstein were the nuts. My mates went to see Motley Crew apparently the performance was crap, I went and saw Gallows. Good weekend, shame it's not on this year.

Lucky BURZUM, you Germans have far more great Metal festivals than us Americans, fully catering to the "trve" in Metal. American festivals might lump some mallcore bands to get a bigger audience.
Love my Metal festivals, the Maryland Deathfest was very good. That one always brings people from all over the world. Also when I lived at a military base, me and my brother would freeload at free fairs. And we'd freeload hardcore, we'd be there only for the amount of time it would take to gather soda and chips and walk back home.

Fuck yeah MD Deathfest. I'm pissed that I didn't get to go this year (although a few of my buddies did), but I'm DEFINITELY going next year.Blasphyx wrote: Love my Metal festivals, the Maryland Deathfest was very good.

There's been a few times that Wacken's lineup was really good. I would go if I ever got the chance to.
RE: What kind of festival do you like / do you usually visit (in your country)?
to be fair, this years lineup was shite, im not surprised it got pulled considering queen cancelled. Also yes I love pendulum, Motley Crue had to keep it family friendly thats why it was crap, ive seen them 3 times, twice at download and they were killer, second time they had hardcore porn on the big screens XDSpringy wrote: Yep definitely, I have to start going to more festivals it was a good experience, I originally went for Pendulum but decided to go for the weekend. Motley Crue seem to be hit or miss, I've heard of people walking out on them cause nikki was forgetting lyrics...badly. Not like James Hetfield where he'd say the wrong word but everything is still in key.Virtue wrote: Motley Crue had to keep it family friendly thats why it was crap, ive seen them 3 times, twice at download and they were killer, second time they had hardcore porn on the big screens XD

RE: What kind of festival do you like / do you usually visit (in your country)?

I've only been to Sounds of the Underground 2006 and 2007, and Gigantour 2006. Nothing really happens around here that interests me. :(

I failed to go to Oktoberfest when I was in Europe. If I go again, I'm definitely gonna make plans to go and actually drink for once.
