Zandronum

At morning I typed the wad hosting site's url and I got this:
"Sorry, I took BE down. I'm generally unhappy with the way the Zandronum staff handles things. I know this petty drama doesn't affect most of you since you just use #bestever to host but they do affect me. I have to deal with these issues on a daily basis because somehow I've apparently become a large figure in this community or something."
I don't know who was behind that site takedown, but I admit it wasn't nice.
I don't think it would be good for someone who could browse some interesting Doom wads for some Doom Source ports.

Best Ever is down for now. There is an alternative to #best-ever called #tspg-painkiller. It is literally a copy of Best Ever. Also, BE is not the only website that hosts WADs.

That was fast. Zdaemon servers exceed Zandronum servers in number now btw.

No. It uses the same codebase as BE. It is NOT a 'literal' copy of BE.

Details like that don't matter to the user of the service. The commands, the bot messages, and even the structure of the website are the same as on Best Ever.

static.[bad site]/wads is available but when you try to download something it will redirect you to the same message. That gets annoying, I'm trying to download the archive ever since Jen went...this.
In case someone contacts Jen in any way (or in case Jen reads this post) do something about that pls.

Yeah the issue isn't BE is gone, but that wad archive had some stuff you couldn't find elsewhere :F

There is http://doom.dogsoft.net/topdownloads.php that has some really old stuff, but in terms of stuff you couldn't find elsewhere, well I'm sure they exist on people's hard drives by now.

The question has yet to be answered. What led to this person taking down one of the best wad hosting resources for the community?
