Sadly I don't have a next gen machine to run it, but I hope to get it once I do.
Anyways, anyone else hyped for it?

I'm excited.
I have no specific expectations for it, so I won't be disappointed if it turns out to just be another Bethesda moneymaker title.
I like what I see so far though so I'll remain optimistic. It'll also give me some motivation to build a new computer.

Ehhhh, it's probably an okay game.
The designs though, they really put me off, (why was combining Doomguy and Master Chief a good idea again) also the trailer blaring dubstep again puts me off, when you think Doom, what comes to your head first?
Oh that's right, dubstep![/sarcasm]
Me, I think metal as fuck music would've fit a bit better. Otherwise it's probably a forgettable soundtrack. (much like Doom 3, save for the title music)

Maybe. Doom 64's soundtrack is for the most part ambient music which builds up the atmosphere. And the game itself is Doom, while being different from the original.

Expectation: an actual Linux port. Might be wishful thinking.

You have a point, I should've mentioned that a Doom 64-esque soundtrack would also work.

More like it'd come off cheesy as hell as E1M1 does today. As mentioned before, Doom 64 as well as PSX Doom would probably be better fits. Basically Ambient done right. Besides, we already have Brutal Doom for your Metal Doom needs.

Yes! Its price on Steam is bloated to hell for my region though...

Probably going to suck. Press "x" button to do an execution and watch as the game takes control from you and plays a cut-scene. This will get old extremely fast in my opinion. I want the game to be good and fun but I just don't see that happening at this point. Also it's going to have no modding support past what snap-map can do.

That's.... not dubstep... not even close.
Listen to some of the Wolfenstein: The New Order soundtrack, and you'll understand.
Also, here's the full track, sounds more electronic/industrial to me:

Love it. It's definitely hi-fi industrial. 1993 ID would love it.

That song is a subtle d_e1m1 reference, and damn does it sound great.

Just another reboot to cash in on past glories.
It's all the industry can think of anymore...

Honestly, that's what a lot of games feel like these days.
Though, some reboots can do really well. I liked the new Shadow Warrior.

It sounds more familiar when you play the video in 1.5x speed.
