[IDEA] a community based PR for youtube (A Post from Zdoom forums)

I just had a random thought after watching this a while back:
Spoiler: YouTube video involving TotalBiscuit (Open)The tag is deprecated, please use the tag
What if we set up our own community PR for YouTube?
The idea is to set up an email account (preferably held by trustworthy people :P ) where we send YouTubers (let's-players, reviewers and etc.) to try out a specific mod/mods that we send either monthly, bi-monthly or whenever we want! hell, maybe send it once a year right after the Cacowards or something. The email would have all the description/screenshots of the mod, the relevant download links, instructions on running them and etc.
I was thinking we send either a Total/Partial conversion or a gameplay mod with a recommended map-set/mega-map/megawad, either way works
The mods could be community nominated and voted by the community or just done like in the Cacowards.
What are your thoughts? Good idea? Bad Idea? (preferably explaining why)

One question. Why do you think we need a special email account to be able to send requests to people on the internet? I mean, come on, they are people, not some royalties or something. If they get a mail from someone saying 'hey you should check this shizzle out yo', it won't really make a difference if it's written by some anonymous guy or by some Royal Anonymous Guy Wording The Will Of Some Community (Ragwtwosc for short)

Great idea now make it happen
Don't let this end up like our
'official zandronum youtube channel' that doesn't even post new videos

An email could make it look more official, that's the only thing to it.
It could work, but take into account how differently mods in doom work compared to other games like Minecraft or Skyrim, many people will be best served with a zip folder and a "CLICK ME TO PLAY" file.

Way back when gamegrumps was funny I sent an email telling them they should do deathmatch or cooperative, but obviously had no luck. Considering how awful egoraptor was at goldeneye, maybe its for the best, but I know jontron is a doom fan.
Also yeah why is the 'official' Zandro YT already dead, so many good wads to record....

I am still waiting for some content from some people so I can make something. I got my rendering powers back :D
This idea is pretty sweet though.

No but naming it something like "
DoomCommunityOfficial@gmail.com" Looks and sounds more legitimate than a regular email name. makes it more likely that they look at it.
And the Idea was this would be a community voted/done thing rather than the preference of an individual.
And besides, a lot of YouTubers have PR people that filter out "junk" mail so this is simply a way to ensure that we don't resort to email flooding or some dumb shit.
Still trying to organize a couple of things, but I wanted to see how the community would take it.

As acording to the video I posted, If you have an interesting enough screenshot or .gif, you might be able to make them make that jump. And besides, there are already some YouTubers out there that already covered brutal doom, it can't be that hard for them.

I actually sent one to another YouTuber (Super Bunny Hop when he did a small episode on Doom mods) a while back, might use the instruction part of that email for future reference,

If this is to promote activity in a 20 year old dead game i don't think it'll work.
As well as that, which youtuber would be willing to go along with this? (for more than a week)

Who said it would be one and the same youtuber all the time? And the answer is, any youtuber who likes playing cool retro games, which means something around 40% of youtube's youtubers
