So here's my opinion coming from someone whose favorite enemies in the original were the Hell nobles: I was going to rant about how they reused the Doom 3 models for the Hell Knight, until I realized those are probably imps. The cacos look GREAT, full of color yet believable. And the lost souls like perfection. That flaming demon skull just looks perfect; I guess I'm just not as much a fan of the Doom 3 designs, although those were pretty cool too.
We haven't seen the pinkies or Hell nobles yet. Honestly I'd be fine if they kept the demon design with the cybernetic legs and all, as long as it had horns and maybe was bipedal instead. Doom 3 models just looked too much like fiends from Quake with robot legs.
If the Arachnotron and Spider Mastermind make it back, it would be cool if there were more cyber variants, then some variants which used sort of more Hellish chassis, with like skulls imprinted and maybe Hell-stone plating, with maybe Hellish fire cannons or Hellrain shooters, as weapons as opposed to the plasma rifle. I kinda had this idea from Complex Doom/Realm 667 monsters, as I play with that mod frequently in multiplayer.
Finally, there should be variants of Revenants that are also more Hellish, like the Death Incarnates from Realm 667 (I think that's what they're called), as well as Behemoth cannon revenants, possibly even railgun revenants as well.
I know all these extra variants of monsters would be really expectant for release, but maybe there could be addons with these, that would be really cool and make the experience more Complex-Doom style, as that mod is really great for sprucing up Doom 2 gameplay.
As for the maps, they look really promising in my opinion, I don't know why the maps get so much hate. The UAC labs are a little cliche space-horror though (like Dead Space sort of), I wish they would just stay true to the Doom 2 style stations a little more. Also why change the UAC logo again, it was fine in Doom 3!

The pinkies show up in the gameplay video of a section of hell, or rather the specter since it was an invisible pinky. The design of pinky is the one I'm most satisfied with along with the lost soul. Still kinda irked that they kept the D3 hell knight design, although that baron looks pretty cool if it's legit. Am I the only one that likes the D3 cyberdemon over this new one? He looks like a Guardian cosplaying as a cyberdemon lol

The pictures that are labeled imps in ibm5155's link sure do look a lot like Doom3 hell knights.

Well, at least the other monsters are getting better designs. As a person who views demons as intelligent beings of conquering prowess rather than violent animals, it's a little disappointing.

They're not reusing the models for Hell Knights, just re-using the design. There were no barons in Doom 3, the horned baron in Doom 4 is new.

I think I'm starting to have second thoughts about those designs, they all of a sudden look really good now. It's probably because of the seemingly increased coloring and lighting. I'm starting to really appreciate what Id has done with them (the weapon designs as well), they are a nice blend of classic and modern.Fused wrote: new gameplay video.

The only thing I'm a little worried about from here on out is the soundtrack and power-up amount. The 1st could really go a long way for the game if done right, the 2nd really isn't too important imo as long as we have the demon rune and quad damage.

I guess the chainsaw will kill everything instantly (and fast). Even a Hell Knight can be torn apart and die as soon as the blades touch it.
Also, I'm hoping that the Cyberdemon was redesigned to look more like it did from Classic Doom too. I liked that design much better.
