doom builder 2

hey guys i need help in to change formats on doom builder and want to change formats, its in doom in doom format and i want to open it in doom and hexen format, but when i select doom in hexen format my map doesn't show up :cry: how do i open it in doom and hexen format?, would appreciate the help guys

You can't I don't think. Best you can do is copy over the map+actors into a new dih format file.

Here is how I once did it:
-Open the map in one doom builder window, and an empty map in the format you want in another window.
-Copy your map to the other window.

It isn't particularly hard, kinda quick and it works.
I haven't seen any other method, but it is probably there somewhere...

Use UDMF. Unless you really do prefer a less flexible format with a much bigger filesize nevermind, UDMF is about 15% larger, but it's still less rigid to use than D-i-D or D-i-H formats.

isnt UDMF much bigger then doom in hexen format? i recall single map wads that were several dozens of MBs.

Nevermind, you're right. I was using a really old map as a reference when I said that. :p


Either way UDMF is still more flexible and easy to work with, IMO. And if you're compressing your map into a pk3 when you're done then you can cut down the end filesize anyways.
