Zandronum

I have one question to the admins. Can you port zandronum to the android devices? I really want ot play zandronum on my smartphone. I asked about it because i cant play any invasion or wad with new weapons.

sigh, here we go again. altho cata and IBM already beat me to it, to be honest playing doom on a phone is realy awkward (there are doom ports for android based on prboom and vannila doom) playing with touch controlls is realy difficult just moving the doomguy thorugh a hallway is a pain in the ass. why do people constantly asking for a freaking smartphone port that is NEVER going to come.

for a tablet it would be ok, since you could plug a mouse and a keyboard on it, but, hey, we have surface pro :D, so why port it to a tablet heh

Can't wait for an fps to implement aiming with a single touch. Click any enemy on screen and your weapon magically aims at them and shoots instantly. Competitve game guarntee.

I don't get why people like Tablets and Phones so much. At this current time, they're just inferior computers. I mean, phones have that whole calling function, which was originally THEIR ONLY PURPOSE, but now we have programs like Skype that let us call for free.

So, yeah, why do people even care about that stuff? Especially to PLAY GAMES ON when YOU HAVE A COMPUTER to do that? Plus, if you were gonna port Zandronum to anything, a gaming console would be a better choice. Though, that's still a bad idea since FPS games are better played with a mouse....Or motion control, motion control goes great with games that involve guns/shooting.

ehm, some windows tablets are fare more powerfull than some people's computer who plays zandronum

But it's simple, want to play zandronum on a tablet, get a windows tablet, no need to port...

the usual stance of the devs is "if we have the time and patience we'll do it, otherwise, you should really do it yourself if you want it"

the devs do a lot of work and I don't think they should be pressured into doing more since they aren't getting paid for this

Just a thing, Zandronum on a smartphone would be too much of a pain in the ass to port AND optimize for maximum smartphone preformance. Also, that wouldn't allow you to play anything heavy (AoW2, ZH, WDI, etc.). You'd get the raw vanilla experience that the other ports on phone give you. Henceforth, a smartphone port is kinda out of question unless smartphones and tablets start inhaling crack and getting on par hardware of PC standards.

Either way, if they do it or not, it'd be an awful idea to play something like Zandronum with a touch screen.......or with those number buttons. (and now I'm imagining playing Doom with a dial, lolz)

Imagine trying to shoot a standard/common enemy, let alone a boss or player.....Yeah, not a pretty site unless you decide to hack and risk getting banned.
