Good Lord (Igor). They're videogames, people. Who cares if the Mario franchise lacks a "token black" character? Perhaps the Mushroom Kingdom is just as homogeneous as Japan.

And when it comes to the lack of "same-sex compatibility" of a game like Tomodachi, I really don't know what to say. I mean the Sims has it, but honestly is it really that important? You're not being discriminated against just because a videogame doesn't factor in every possible lifestyle that a user may have. Can my character be a black Jewish transexual who has 3 underage wives and is fighting a heroin addiction? No

Yes. Thank You. I support Gay Marriage and I find the Activists at fault on this one. This is a game that comes from a different culture than ours so EXPECT DIFFERENT ACCEPTANCE OF LIFESTYLES (even if it was done by accident). I was so appalled by these SJW and Gay-Rights Activists going after Nintendo on the "no gay marriage in Tomodachi Life" that I actually felt bad I was supporting my fellow LGBT community for about 3 days. I read some of the stuff some of the Japanese populace has said about this and they down right mock America. It's so bad...

Also the game is for kids. I'd be more worried about religious parents up my ass anyways.

As for the Mario Kart situation, I have no words to describe how stupid some of these people are.

Actually, if memory serves, the actual reason why this is an issue is because of an unintentional bug where you could be in a same-sex relationship and still have children. And... that got patched out.

It's a bit more reasonable than MK8, unless you could play as a black character before some sort of patch. Oh wait, you have your Miis, never mind.

No the glitch was wear you could put your character is specific gender clothing from the opposite gender so you could fake a gay marriage. But if you did it it would break your save so they had to patch it. There was a rumor that made this sound a whole lot worse.

EDIT: I was wrong. The ACTUAL bug they patched was an actual bug that on the 3DS (i think) version that if you were a male it would swap your gender for no reason. If you want more information on this listen to the Super Best Friend Cast episode 40 because they explain it WAY better than I can.

It's probably also worth mentioning that people are actually pissed off that Zero Suit Samus from the next installment of Super Smash Bros. is wearing "high heels." Like, are you serious? Fuckin' idiots, all of them. SJWs are the bane of humanity. For the lack of doing something productive with their time, they choose to bicker at things that were never wrong to begin with. They're very akin to modern day feminists, I would say. Nintendo is free to do whatever the fuck they want, and you're just plain stupid to think they're being "racist" or whatever for not re-designing their own art forms to cater to your outlandish preferences.

However, it is a good thing that Japanese developers are well-known for not giving two shits about what SJWs have to say. And for that, they have my respect. Hopefully, Nintendo will be smart and not listen to the bird-brained side of the internet.

If I remember correctly this is supposed to be the new IP Myamoto teased about last year so there might be a 2nd one on the next systems. Also, Nintendos not a jerk they'll put it in there now people have "pointed" this out to them because Nintendo tries to be the nice guy.

There's a fairly well established rule that is given to writers and creators who are formally educated, particularly in universities: Never introduce things into the story that detract from the central conflict unless they are there to add character depth. Unnecessary clutter makes the story boring and drawn out.

More to the point, why does there need to be gay characters/black characters/a minority class? Can't a story be fully engaging and well structured without getting pc? And why does it automatically become racist or prejudiced if the story does not have minority characters or the characters are portrayed negatively?
