19, found out about Doom on Newgrounds about 3 years ago from playing a flash version of shareware Doom (which now contains Heretic and Hexen) that was uploaded by one of the staff members.

been playing since I was four or five, not really sure - but it was on the GBA, with static lighting because it was easier, and I only played ITYTD because I sucked really really badly
then again, last time I played it I still could only do ITYTD, so maybe it's the controls - I can at least do UV, ferchrissakes

I dont know if i can speak for all of the 40+, but we dont care if we get beaten by kids.
For me, if you act respectfull, like, when you have beaten me in-game, and you dont go all the "naaa-nananaaa-na" or "You Suck! bhuwahahahaha!!!" behaviour, i always consider you as equal. no matter what age you are.
It happen to me to many times back in 2007, maybe thats why i stopped playing competitive gamemodes, and
foccussed more in the creating department instead.

Just turned 18 a few months ago. Been playing Doom for I don't even know how long, maybe around 5 or so? I found Skulltag around late '08 or early '09 when I was bored and searched "Multiplayer Doom".

I am 21 now. I started playing Skulltag when I was 12. I had found the Special Hissy Edition on DoomWorld at the time, after I found out about ZDoom.

17 here, turning 18 on October, been playing doom since I was kid (like 7 or 8) I found out about multiplayer doom since 2007, started in ZDaemon and played coop and such, then I found out about Skulltag by july 2009, started in gvh and found a very cool community. In 19th september 2010 , I cheated in gvh and got masterbanned from skulltag, permbanned from forums and irc aswell.

And I recently been unbanned by 21st September 2011 and been kicking ass ever since.

14, hitting 15 in November. I've started playing Doom after I seen my sis beating it on DosBox... I was around 5-7. Or less, don't really remember.

Actually, I have some reasons to play Doom. NO, this isn't because today games gameplay sux. I play Doom because my pc isn't super, and Doom works everywhere while today games generally are SO FUCKING RESOURCE EATING (this is the effect of programming without stress), THEY ARE SO FUCKING FILLED WITH THOSE GRAPHICS (and often no option to lower it strongly), AND THEY COST (usally) SO FUCKING MUCH, so I prefer to play this. (I don't say that there's no good games today).

Cyberdemons are a curse. I remember the first time I heard the footsteps of the Cyberdemon and I almost shit myself of scare.

Nah, I never had many problems with Cybies. However, I always panic when I see those hax Revenants. They always roll max dice on meh.

If you are in fact honest, then you have my very sincere respect love. Doom popped up when I was ten, so for me it really hit me in the sweet spot at the right age as well. You were like 40 around the time Doom was released, so I must ask - what is it about this game that made you interested and what keeps you at it?

This is of a late reply, but I actually started playing doom at the age of 3, dad put me on it to shut me up for a while, and I agree with you, no-one really quits doom, I am now 17 (Just had to edit so it's correct.)
