Zandronum

What is the lowest PC screen resolution you have ever used and/or seen anyone else using? I personally haven't seen anything below 1024x768(or 1024x600 for netbooks) in a LONG while.

320x200 is the absolute lowest, and I have used that resolution for years.

i think most people use theyr monitor's native resolution, given theyr pc can handle it. lowest res i have used for a realy long time would be 640x480 which is the default zan res iirc, this was because our family pc at the time couldnt handle zh that well so i had to put everything on as low possible settings as i could.

but a while later i got my own proper pc and upgraded the gpu on that and i always stuck to the native res of my monitor at the time which was 1366x768.

now on my current pc i always use 1920x1080 and i never go lower then that.

I keep hearing from competitive players to stick to 800x600. I usually don't go under my native res of 1440x900 unless I can help it, but for CRTs I don't see why 800x600 would look too bad. If I had a CRT, I'd probably use that or 1024x768, too.

Lowest I've seen supported on any machine I've played on was 320x200. Couldn't see shit with it.

For zan the lowest possible resolution is 640x480 for openGL and 320x200 for software.

320x200 (zandronum [soft and gl], and even on need for speed run rofl)

640X480.. Don't get how anyone see in lower resolutions without feeling dizzy anyway (Used 320X200 for long and wont repeat)

320x200 is the lowest here, but I never used it since my old pentium 3 with that cooler mods (armageddon, who dun it xD)

I always play on 800X640....but on windowed mode
(VISTA IS SO MUCH FUN)

I've used 320x200 windowed.

Made even OpenGL feel a lot like doom2.exe graphically.

Spoiler: OK these are all resolutions I can use in my zan (Open)

Note that all these resolutions work flawlessly without any interpolation (CRT).

1680x1050... Don't get what is so good about this "competitive" res of 800x600... I can see just everything I need with my resolution while keeping my eyes from beong sore.
I also use OpenGL on the lowest settings with legacy lighting.

I should of PROBABLY mention that I meant the PC screen resolution and not zandronum/other games resolution. But eh, whatever. This might help too.

1280x800 windowed is what I've been using for years.

I can't fathom there are people still hardware-stuck at sub-1024x resolutions.

I used PC-DOS, 640x200, 2 colors, text-only, 16K RAM, floppy drive and no hard drive. So, when I saw Doom in 320x200 with 256 colors, it looked amazing. Obviously, it wasn't still the same PC.

Lowest was 320x200 for me. Never seen anything below that.

Interesting. That's what I got from possible resolutions in software Zan:

I still like 320x200 for oldschool maps. The low resolution makes the simpler architecture look less plain and you don't see the obvious gradient lines in the distance that you would in higher resolutions. Otherwise, I'll use 1600x900 with open gl and hqn4x filter. ...I would use 5040x900 if Zandro supported multimonitor resolutions.

I usually use 1024X768 or 800X600 and I switch to 320X240 when I feel like it.
(And I find 320X240 + windowed mode funny)

How do I enable 320X200? I can't find it in my video menu.
