World Cup 2014 and problems with it (Brazilian manifest)

My name is Gianlucca Funari, I'm 17,and I'm a brazilian student. I know that this is not the right place to spread the word, but it's the only friendly international community that I know. I don't know if you guys know what's happening at the moment here in Brazil, but our government raised our bus fee to R$3,20 it's about $1,60USD our minimum salary is R$680, about $340USD per month. Aside from that, we suffer by corruption (not that other countries doesn't, but our corruption is greater when compared to first world countries). In 2014 we are going to host the FIFA Football World Cup, our government is spending over 30 Bilions USD to get things done before the World Cup. This would not be a problem in a country where 13 milion people starve every day, in a country where public schools are not good, where people die in hospitals while waiting for a medic. If you don't understand what I'm saying, this video can speak for me. We are currently having a revolution with over 100k people on the streets of São Paulo and other 100k in Rio de Janeiro, we took control over our capital Brasilia, in Distrito Federal. Police are shooting at the manifestants and the chaos are spreading over the country. This can not go on.

What I'm asking you is simple: Spread this video in other big communities that are known by you.

Here are some pictures of the manifest:

This is Câmara dos Deputados, almost the same as the House of Representatives. As you may see, we took control over it.

São Paulo

Some places where the manifestation took place

More places

Rio de Janeiro

We are not using violence to manifest. We are using our voice.

The World Cup CANNOT occur. Not while there are still problems with our country. We can't let our government spend R$30b on football stadiums and leave citizens starving, analphabet and without health care.

You may Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v this message, no need to hide my name. Just please, Spread this message!

Thank you very much and I'm sorry for taking your time.

Sincerely, Gianlucca.
Taken from HERE.

So, what do you think about this?

I'm kinda jealous that they get the Confederations Cup, the World Cup, and the Olympics all in the space of 3 years.

But yeah, i've been watching this story on the news. The people have every right to be angry at the way this has unfolded, the Government have lied to them saying that the people's tax won't have to pay for it, yet 5 or so years later we see that nearly all the public money has been spent on Glamerous new Stadiums around the country, whilst a good percentage of it's rising population continues to live in poverty.

Some of the people went to protest about the decision outside of the stadiums, and they were attacked by police, and literally blown away with water cannons. Really a nice way for your government to treat the people who've paid their hard earnt money to build your new stadiums. Sad story really.

I don't think it should, but it will anyway.

After thousands more incidents and injuries, with deaths thrown in.

As a Brazilian myself, there really isn't much else to add. Swift's got the right idea about the protests, and I hope meaningful changes come from all of this! I'll be present in a few protests that will occur in my city as well...

The idea was nice on the first days but the days passed and the government investments on the cup tripled or even more (they said they´ll recover all the investment on the cup in 10 years)...
I really have no idea about what´ll happen on 2014, even checking for people who came to the confederation see the real truth...

The problem isn´t the world cup, for me the only problem is the government so corrupt and greedy '-'

Haven't you heard? Corrupt government and/or human rights violations are now a prerequisite for hosting major sporting events.

things seems to be gross there, but this may be beyond what we even think, cause someone else joined the “Revolta do Busão”(AKA Salad Revolution) :

That's actually the most intelligent spambot i've ever seen.
