It's been a while since I've made a good topic, so I thought I'd post this. I was having a discussion with several of my friends about the zombie apocalypse, which came out of talking about The Walking Dead. Eventually we started naming off people who we thought would definitely survive or die in the apocalypse.
So, choose anybody you want, fictional or real, but they have to follow 3 rules: 1) They can only travel with what they would have normally, i.e., Harry potter (who I think would die) can only have his wand or some small provisions. 2) They cannot leave Earth as part of their survival. (This is unilateral.) 3)God like characters must save humanity in the process. (This was the killer for Dr. Manhattan.)
All super powers are assumed to work unless there is some condition that would prevent them from doing so.
Also, the manner of infection (i.e. the vector through which the virus, curse, etc. spreads) is not terribly important. The gist of the zombie apocalypse scenario is all that is needed. If we get too technical, we're not focusing on the survivors. We're basically just making up universe rules to kill people we don't like.
So assume the following: 1.) The virus (or whatever) only affects corpses. Whether the infection kills the subject isn't extremely relevant, as the other conditions (lawlessness, psychopaths, and of course the zombies) are just as likely to kill somebody. 2.) The outbreak is already underway. Major metropolitan areas are all infested. Governments are either weakened or currently occupied trying to contain the outbreak. 3.) The subject of your choice is either stranded or travelling with a group as appropriate to the setting. i.e. If Bill Gates was the subject assume he was in his house or some other place routine for him, he is in government custody (think bunker from Dead Rising 2), or he is currently on the run in the field. 4.)The government and private security cannot save the subject. They are currently attempting to set up a safe zone. Your subject can be one of the first ones at the site (example: Bill Gates) but the site isn't complete and is still vulnerable. The degree of vulnerability depends on the scope and nature of the safe zone.
So my picks for survivors were:
1. Cody Lundin, from Dual Survival. Motherfucker can make fire from rocks. He may not be able to defeat a massive horde but if he can outrun it, he can survive indefinitely.
2. Leon Scott Kennedy. Well, because he did. Zombie apocalypse? Been there done that and killed an entire region of terrorists afterwards.
3. Solid Snake. A cardboard box and a bowie knife and he's good.
4. Chuck Greene. Yes, he's in a fucking zombie game. And he'd still survive. Macguyver's zombie smashing cousin is a no brainer.
5. Death the Kid. Zombie's aren't symmetrical. And he is a shinigami. He'd probably save the world while he's at it too.

My picks for people who would most definitely die:
1. Chuck Norris. ROUNDHOUSEKI-*CHOMP* huh...never figured a zombie would bite me on the leg.
2. Pierce Morgan. Suddenly, an assault rifle is a brilliant idea. Too bad for you.
3. Joe Biden. Discharged all of his ammo on the balcony and was over run by zombies immediately afterward. Brilliant. Once again, the assault rifle would have helped.
4. Any UFC fighter. Hand to hand just gives them an arm to bite.
5. Daniel Tosh. There's just no way.

You don't have to stop with five, I just did for the interest of time. So, who's talking and who's walking? (Get it? Walking Dead? Yeah I would get killed by my companions.)

Interesting topic. Off the top of my head I'd say John Romero!

Doomguy will survive it for sure... same for corvus and hexen classes since they all alrady killed similar things lol

From COD, zombie mode characters would survive it.

I am sure that ordinary bards from neverwinter wouldn't survive. Oh come on, attacking someone with sounds is just plain silly.

We all know Bill fucking Murray would survive. Not because of that horrid Zombieland movie, that's right, it sucked; but because its Bill. Fucking. Murray.

Realistically speaking, there are only two options:
1. Zombies are slow and infect via biting
Who survives?
-almost all people
Who dies?
-first victims of outbreak, people who died from panic-caused reasons (being stomped, being mistakingly shot, dying from murder because ZOMFG WE'RE LIVING IN VIDEO GAME NOW I WANT TO EAT AND DRINK EVERYTHING IN NEAREST WALMART

2. Zombies are not slow and/or infect in a more efficient way then biting
Who survives?
-zombies
-rich paranoid people who have built bunkers and important authorities (if their food supplies can feed them longer then zombies will be able to infect)
Who dies?
-everyone else

Survivors: Usian Bolt, Bill Gates, countries living on islands, people with "sadist" as fetish, blondes (only if zombies want to eat brainz), zombies
Dead...ors: 'Muricans (unless they donate some fat to poor kids in Africa), thousands of soldiers and scientists, less liked politics, guys who throw less liked politics to zombies, people with "masohist" as fetish, humenz

Survivors: Bruce Lee, Army head, Air Force head and Navy head, Pilots.

Louis will survive it :)

I think it would be much more interesting if the topic was on "How you'd think you'd do in a Zombie Apocalypse" followed by questions.

However, I think that people that inhabit isolated countries would most likely survive more than people say...in the Americas or in Eurasia. I just don't think that a zombie apocalypse would be too difficult to contain in isolated areas once they find the one responsible, compared to a huge mass of land you'd have to go through to find the source...and by that time it'd be GGs for everyone and their dogs.

That's just me though.

You can name anybody you'd think would survive. This is a hypothetical (bordering on absurdity at that) so real life conditions are limited.

Edit: Honestly, the only reason I mention him is because other than being a billionaire he has no assets to ensure his survival. He's really as benign a character as it gets if you take away his money.
