Question of the March

This one is a bit open-ended ...
What's your fondest memory of multiplayer Doom? It could be a particular server, match, map set, or mod, or maybe just a particular timeframe.
For me, it was playing TeamDM on map sets like UDM3, FearDM, and [RB]DM. That was sometime around '06 to '07. Back then, TDM servers were packed almost 24/7. The single moment that sticks out in my mind was when my team won a super-close victory on UDM3 MAP16 with "The Final Countdown" MIDI playing. Shit was almost too epic for my 13-year-old brain to handle.

The first DynamiteDM fnf that ran in 2010 when fnf was revived by DeathBringer, VP, and Xenaero (I think? I am sure DB was there.). That particular fnf was a lot of fun, no other fnf has been as good for me as that one. I think it was #7 or someshit.
AWWWW YEAH. I was there. Shit was crazy. For some reason the "This console sucks" message really sticks out for me. :p

Let's go ALL the way back to the early 2000's. Dad noticed I was playing Doom 2 a lot and started up a network game. We played some Coop and then I played with my brother. That blew my mind.
It's now 2005, and I'm eleven years old. I wondered one day if there was anything that could let me find and connect to Doom multiplayer servers. I found Skulltag. But not only that, I discovered Doom mods for the first time! After school, I was playing Alien Vendetta, Scythe 2, Silly Wars, Dietest, and other modifications. My username back then was "shadow29" if there was anyone else playing back then.

Hands down one of the greatest days ever. A lot of people came down just to play it and be a part of it on TS.

I wasn't "in" the community yet... I had some generic nickname and doomguy's skin. I played some classic style deathmatch with Liam (at least with someone with such nick, lol). I was obviously sucking terribly, but I wasn't giving up or ragequitting. It seemed to have entertained him, and he told me to go to some server with headquarters, he was showing me cool traps and we were doing silly stuff, spray walls, etc... It was first time I actually had some contact with someone in FPS instead of just killing each others/monsters and leaving.
Of course best multiplayer experiences I had with irl friends even if they couldn't really play, in middle school where I had found the Doom for the first time, or playing shared screen deathmatch with my sister on hipafrag, on Legacy.... (my first source port)
Heh :)

I would say back when we first started Skulltag priv back when it was myself, Mastan, Shakal, and th0r running the show. The servers were supervised by me on DTX1 CoffeeNet and in order to get the pass you had to PM one of us and we kept the retards out by banning their IPs if they were not given the pass by one of us. The games were so fun that even Carnevil and Ralphis showed up to play!
Back when I was in RB with Metalhead, Midian, and Cato were good times as well :)

11:22 This right here killed me
Oh my god best day ever, reminded me of why we even go to our Teamspeaks in the first place. We need to do something like this again.
Barring that, some Firefox 3 celebration mapset, in a
massive DM. That's the most memorable old memory I have of this port. Think it was back in 97c.

Fondest was back in the day on ZD, I would always play tlsxctf, zdctf, dueling, or doing rjspace every day or every other day with my clanmates while chilling on TS, joking and having a good time. We would have the most fun conversations in our clan channel and stuff. Eventually everyone kind of disappeared via getting banned or because of real life, but in time we all came back together few years later and formed a group and created a channel called hangout where we had a lot of people join for some fun. It included people like our favorite Zanbabwe Dictator Metal, our most known Lego-Minecraft hater Swiftshot, our worst ZDoomwars player Legion, and myself to name a few people.
In ST I would say the fondest has been my time in A3 as well. Similarly it's been like what I described on ZD but minus everyone disappearing and coming back years later and add clan rivalries (in the earlier days), being apart of BluesTS and getting banned before ST became Zanzibar.
