It's funny how people these days complain about how games are $40, heh.

I remember this, and I remember the spider mastermind on the installation of the dos/demo version, I think it was. Good times.

Nah, people complain about 60$ games (50% difference) and how their DLCs can add up to 150$ in some cases.

From the days that I didn't actually own a full copy of doom. A distant memory.

What has changed though, is that spending that money on Doom was a worthwhile investment that would provide you with entertainment for the next 20+ years. And you only had to spend that money once (okay twice ... once again for Doom2 ;p).

Spending that money on the new COD game, however, would only provide you with entertainment for like 5 hours (for the campaign) and maybe like 60 hours (or however long it takes you to realize that multiplayer sucks dick). And you'd be spending 60$ again and again every time they come out with a new COD game. Which is like, every 6 months.
