hard disk & partition eraser?

Can anyone please recommend a reliable & free hard disk & partition eraser? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. the program would need to work on any windows os. Thank you in advance!

GParted has served me well, though it is best used through a live CD. Using a partition editor from inside the hard drive you're going to edit isn't advisable anyway to my knowledge.
