Zandronum

I still play Doom, don't get me wrong.

But I admit I haven't been paying attention to what has, or had, been going on with Skulltag lately. The change to Zandronum came to me as somewhat of a shock, even to the point of making me angry to learn that the stock maps I made would be dropped.

But hey, shit happens. I won't hold grudges.


But I WILL start paying attention again....

If it was within the devs' control, I'm sure the transition would have been much smoother.

First off welcome back! Second, we more or less had the rug pulled out from under us. We didn't have permission to use Skulltag resources and we really weren't going to hunt down every single source in hopes of recreating it. I hope you understand how tiresome and time consuming that would be. At the time when Skulltag forums were shut down we were extremely limited in how we could transfer users to Zandronum, and if we took the time to recreate Skulltag (which isn't even possible due to its ripped resources from commercial games) it would compromise development of the port and community. Third, people can still play the stock maps with full Skulltag resources by running the pk3 with Zandronum. If you're curious on the exact details which took place I'd be happy to talk with you one on one either through PM or IRC.

I would actually appreciate a full account. Even if I haven't been around much, Skulltag meant a lot to me.

Holy shit, Submerge is back!

I personally think your stock maps were some of the best in Skulltag, and I have no idea why Carn would have cut them. Did it have anything to do with your account being purged a while back? Because that really shocked me. I mean how could a former mapper/dev possibly get himself banned? Unless you rustled Carn's jimmies somehow.

Carn didn't cut them, Zandronum did.

If I recall correctly, a lot of accounts were locked for safety purposes. That was no problem to me.
