An interesting reintroduction

Hi, some of you may remember me from I think 2009 at skulltag. I know I will see a lot of familiar faces here and I hope to make a better impression on the community.

Anyway, I am wondering why Carnevil shut down skulltag? I know he had some problems with project vega, but he shut down that project a while ago to move on to something else but why did he do it?

This is by far the least interesting introduction I've ever seen.

He didn't shut skulltag down, AFAIK he just left it. And developers just got fed up with it, they just went ahead and forked a new port!

Project Vega wasn't shut down, in fact it's on the verge of being officially released. Secondly, he didn't willingly shut down Skulltag. The development team that had been in charge of coding Skulltag after Carn ceased development basically got fed up with his unwillingness to fully cooperate with them when it came to the Skulltag website, so they moved their operations to a new port called Zandronum. When Carnevil became aware of this, he knew Skulltag would never be the same so he pulled the plug and most of the Skulltag community made the transition to Zandronum.

Ahh! I thought wrack was an entirely different game from project vega.
This clears up a lot.
Edit: OH hey! Its TEN!!

Yes it's me! I feel like a douche for not remembering you. Did you go by any other names?

I remember seeing your name somewhere long time ago, but I don't know if we know each other. Anyways, welcome back, and have a nice stay!

This is not completely true as only a part of the community remains unchanged. From what I saw, that part is mostly centered around private CTF and competition. If you check the Trash subforum, you can see that most of the posts put there are almost always made by the same people, unlike on the old Skulltag forums a year or two years ago.

I don't really want to go off-topic, but you shouldn't hide what you like because that's unnatural and the actual people who would go far in "harming" you (is that even possible on the internet?) only because of your taste are not a very wise company to hang out with, heh.

So we are free to discuss our desires and fetishes, despite being totally extraordinary and/or disgusting? I don't see how that makes any sense.

Seriously, as much I don't want to sound like a dick or make this topic off it's feet. However, I must say that this thread is probably the most cringest than any other thread off-topic has ever produced. Honestly, why is there a thread when they were hundreds of them during july when this port was active for the first time. Doesn't people know how to use the search button. Geez, like come on... Also this title gives false meaning of "interesting" because I thought it'll someone INTERESTING but not someone who just wasted my time realising it some random person who couldn't think. Lately I don't post in here because it's cringe dribble to the max. However, threads like these makes me want to be pissed off at this part of the forums.

You're kidding, right? Besides the typical ego stroking in priv(but that's given on any game no matter where you are) this community has changed in little ways... you just didn't notice it!

to be honest i feel the community still being the same, maybe the name and the lead of the project changed but MANY things here not changed, (is like if all mexico would go to a new country with a new president but it never will change) and about the avatar, well not all love the program, i found it "dumb" BUT! at least we not are worse than ZD community

This thread has been split 4 times now over useless banter concerning an avatar. The question was why Skulltag was shut down and about project vega. Whether or not you approve of his avatar is completely irrelevant to OP's question.

Also if it's possible people, don't reply to this thread if you don't have anything to add to the main topic. (No, the main topic isn't the user's avatar.) If I'll see another post that tries to bash the user because of it's avatar, you will be warned accordingly.

I honestly thought the main topic was "Hi I'm back." Because there's the thread title in addition to half of the first post.

Anyway, all Carnevil really shut down was the website, including forum; since he hadn't been doing any Skulltag-related development for a while, because of Vega a.k.a. Last Bastion a.k.a. Wrack. Why did he shut it down, instead of leaving it up as a reference archive with a redirect to Zandronum? I think it was because he was angry that the Zandronum staff were being unfair (in his opinion). But on top of that, the website and forum themselves were in a bad way, and they may not have been useful or stayed so.
