RE: Wolfenstein: The New Order (30min gameplay footage!)
looks very promising towards the end. looks to be a mix of RTCW and more classic shooters. didnt like that the person playing kept using iron sights. and the reason its so linear at the start is probably because of tutorials n such

RE: Wolfenstein: The New Order (30min gameplay footage!)
The second Twitch stream is up, in case anyone missed it.
First people are complaining that this is another generic shooter, and now they're comparing this game to Day One: Garry's Incident, Guise of the Wolf, and Ride to Hell: Retribution. What the actual fuck?

RE: Wolfenstein: The New Order (30min gameplay footage!)
Second stream seems very promising and shows some really creative level design in hiding one of those secrets
it seems that this isnt going to be a "one enemy type down long corridors with chest high walls" (was there ever any doubt that it wasnt?)
its a shame the player hardly duel wielded, and used iron sights so much. it really felt like they were playing it way too safe (then again, it was on "I am death incarnate" difficulty, i would play it safe too)
that double barrel shotgun though

People don't know what they need to compare it to. This can't be compared to Day One: Garry's Incident, Guise of the Wolf and Ride to Hell: Retribution since it has a higher production level and much more support. Plus if Bethesda doesn't fuck this one up, we're good.

Those games are easy targets when it comes to such bogus comparisons.IdeIdoom wrote: People don't know what they need to compare it to. See:
"TNO has iron sights, regenerating health, and sprinting!? It's just like Day One: Garry's Incident!"
"TNO doesn't look like a Battlefield 4 clone/TNO uses id Tech 5! It's the next Guise of the Wolf, NOOOOOOOOO!11!!"
"TNO actually has cutscenes in it, and you shoot enemys (sic) in corridors!! Oh noes, it's ride to hell all over again!!!11one"
Brain-dead elitists who claim to be old-school fans complain almost purely because TNO is not a Serious Sam clone with Nazis, nor is it Wolf3d 2.
Besides, even if critics give TNO a lukewarm reception, even so, MachineGames (Bethesda is the publisher) has managed to create an enjoyable product.

I'm thinking about preordering it. This game looks decently promising, and the added TF2 items are a plus. Can't wait to see how that DooM 4 beta access goes...
EDIT:
Oh yeah, it's just DOOM. Good job on the naming lads.

RE: Wolfenstein: The New Order (New gameplay featuring next-gen watermelon destruction)
Those are kinda high, the minimum specifications are even higher than those for crysis 3. :I (But not the recommended ones)
Well high, lets say you need a GOOD GPU.
This game asks quite less CPU and RAM for a new game.
Games wich uses UE3 ask ways more CPU.
EDIT: If you couldn't run RAGE, you cannot run this.

Actually, these requirements are really generous for a 2014 game. Even my high-spec-as-of-2011 PC meets the recommended requirements!

RE: Wolfenstein: The New Order (New gameplay featuring next-gen watermelon destruction)
I just looked up the minimum requirements for crysis 3 and even just looking at it i can tell its higher than wolf's specs
guess ill have to check how it stacks up with my laptop when i get back home
chances are ill still get it for ps3 so i can have the best graphics and best overall experience, even if it means i dont get the TF2 items or the Doom Beta
EDIT: Didnt rage have some serious problems with the PC version?
i never got a chance to try any of the fixes, it was a free weekend and i didnt get a chance to look into that
and if it seems to have lower-than-UE3 requirements, i might actually be able to run it after all (i can run SOME UE3 games at lower-to-lowest settings, like Dishonored and Spec Ops)

HAD, blame opengl drivers that sucked... (a good point to make directx games, there a low chance to get a problem like that)
But at least, I could play rage on my intel hd 3000 with 30fps always, so I expect now to play wolf 4D on my amd hd8870m with the full settings

I love how, it presents itself as a movie, rather than a video game. (sarcasm)Hellstorm Archon wrote:The [video] tag is deprecated, please use the [media] tagWELP

I've seen it use the old school health and armor system but kinda still skeptical on it.

Damn, that trailer's awesome. I don't think I'm buying the game anytime soon though... too expensive.

theres only so many people you can draw in with just gameplaySuicide Slim wrote:I love how, it presents itself as a movie, rather than a video game. (sarcasm)Hellstorm Archon wrote:The [video] tag is deprecated, please use the [media] tagWELP
and to be honest, theyve shown about as much gameplay as cutscenes, if not more. its not gonna be like older games where the story is an afterthought. they look to be putting as much thought into the story as the gameplay itself
and like it or not, the best way to market the game these days seems to be showing mostly cutscenes in trailers

Just came across some leaked footage.
http://a.pomf.se/jjvpaf.mp4
In case you're wondering, the first video shows AI on par with Day One: Garry's Incident, whereas the second one is your rudimentary mech section, which is basically just a movable turret section.
At this point, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't suck.

Those hardly look like early builds.
