What Game scared you the most ?

Amnesia: The Dark Descent or Anna, I can't decide honestly.
Buy Anna if you don't have it, very nice indie made by some italians, if you love horror games you will like it.

I played L4D2 on my friends machine a week ago.
And no not the game was scary.. the scary part is everything was modded to touhou and ponies. it was ridiculous especially with those unfitting musics.. l4d2 not scary, Ponified Touhoued L4D2... now thats real horror (at least for me :P)

Silent Hill: Origins. I was probably 13 or 14 at the time I played it, and I'd never played a Silent Hill game before. It was... interesting.

I've played Silent Hill 1 and 3 since then, but they haven't creeped me out as much. I guess I broke myself of its creepy factor after Origins.

Hate to say it, but when I was like 7? Doom 64. Fuck that opening stage, I did NOT want to turn that first corner into that pitch dark hallway and get mauled by whatever horrible thing my imagination could come up with.

Lucky you, at around that age I rented it and was so intimidated by the introduction, that I felt like watching a few demos, then I got really scared and never actually got to play.

I did. I honestly never found Halflife 1 or 2 the least bit scary.

The most scared I've ever been of a videogame is actually quite fascinating.
In the Amiga rts Mega Lo Mania, if you perform an ingame activity before the island view has fully faded in, it considers you to be cheating and will later during the game, without warning, kill all your stuff and return to a 'cheater' screen.. and stay there until you reboot your machine!

Younger when I thought I had nyctophobia (fear of the dark) , played doom 3 and got very scared. Later played a custom map and since then, I wasn't scared of doom 3.
Oh and about Amnesia : The Dark Decent , I STREAMED IT AND I BARELY GOT SCARED. I mostly laughed, made some jokes and played stupidly.

I really like horror games so while a lot of them don't really scare me anymore, they're still fun to play.

First real scare I ever had was from Doom 2 as a kid. Imagine a computer that had no actual sound card, now playing sound through the pc speaker (aka, my game sounded like I was connecting to dialup as the "sound"). Considering no other game I owned on pc had any kind of sound before, this was a huge deal to me. And since the pc speaker never gave me music, I would sneak around terrified of what creepy-ass sounding creature would jump at me. To this day, arachnotrons send a chill down my spine after the God-awful noise that would come from them on that old pc speaker. It terrified me to the point where I never killed them, I just ran away. :)

After that, I think the Parasite Eve series really got to me. The first one was mildly creepy which gave it all the atmosphere I needed for the second one. That game... Anyone that was scared of RE2 back in the day missed out. PE2 had it all. People morphing into "whatthefuckisthatohmygod" 's (as I called them back then), along with the usual jump scares, obvious-room-of-death you never wanted to go into, puzzles that drove you nuts because you just wanted to get out of that place, --It really had it all. The game isn't nearly as scary as when it first came out, but I'm surprised the CG animations still have a bit of that "what the hell am I watching" factor to mildly creep you out.

Amnesia? Honestly it wasn't as spooky as I hoped it would've been though. I'll admit that near the end when you [spoiler spoiler spoiler] really had enough weight to it that I actually felt really creeped out. Worth a weekend at a friend's house if you never played it before.

I'd say F.E.A.R. 1. That game sometimes just gives me the absolute creeps. Dead Space etc. is really bland for me in comparison.

I don't see what's fun in that game: everything is black and from time to time that Slenderman pops out, kills you and ever headphone user. There isn't a plot or a bit of depth besides lurking in the darkness looking for unexpressive notes and trying to avoid your nemesis. 8U

To be quite honest, Amnesia hasn't hit me that much currently for some reason, heh.

Anywho, what really did manage to scare me the most up to now was the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. To be more precise, the infamous Lab-X18. Those Ukrainians did damn awesome with that atmosphere and all. Christ, that place still got me on my 2nd run. Hmm, actually, Shadow of Chernobyl also got me plenty of times (and the first bloodsucker encounter hit me without expectations just when I thought something was there but the ambient sounds made it really blend in). Just fuck that place, I hate being down in X18 and Agroprom underground.
