That part seems to have been played on babby ezmode, since the drops were unusually generous compared to the first level.
Which would be rather unsurprising considering the fact that this is a presentation of a tricky part played with a controller.

Fatalities can be done sometimes and gives you extra health it seems. Otherwise you have your normal fast paced action (second gameplay video shows it).
The finishers (yes, finishers - they're too short to be 'fatalities'!) actually tie very well into the whole gameplay they've set up; seemingly the only way to restore your health/ammo is by killing things and picking up what they drop, which means walking up to wherever the dead monster was. Where are you when you perform a finisher? Right next to the monster - so that you immediately get your shot of health/ammo, making it quite lucrative to quickly zip towards a finishable monster and, uh - RIP AND TEAR ITS GUTS or something.

That's very much unlike the rbutl dumb fatalities, which serve the purpose of flashiness and naught else.

I dunno why you guys keep qqing about the cyberdemon - he looks cool, imo :T (tho, on second thought, maybe he indeed could use some more mechanic parts... Oh well)

This looks decent, graphics are good, at the very least I like how it looks a hell of a lot better than doom 3. The gameplay didn't look terrible, even if the first head stomped in immediately reminded me of brutal doom... Hopefully there's a bit more to this than just mindless violence. I'm still disappointed with the hellknight, just like in doom 3.

Of course this is Bethesda we're talking about... Not to knock it too hard but I imagine we'll see youtube videos of crazy glitches, with monsters being stuck in walls and whatnot. Noclip anyone? No..? Aw.

To me this'll never have anything on the classic Doom 1 and 2 though, probably just because I'm a sucker for old classic games.

It's like they stole my wishlist and put everything on it in the game, oh my God! :D
The only downside is the running speed, but I'd still consider it "fast enough".
I'm definitely buying it!

If you see the gameplay of the multiplayer, the moves looks fast, and yeah, the guy get a lot of regen items from the finish on the ennemies....maybe he played in easy mode like you said.
I was too much negative, i think.

the next DOOM need to be fun for the new generation of gamer too.... the level design will be less labyrinth (certainly?) mais it's ok for me, i would want see more maps to see the differents style of maps and colors, i can't really judge on the first map (who looked pretty easy if you dont try the "finish").
The modes of the multiplayer (there is invasion ??? ) and the program to make map looks fun, i think, they didnt want make it like doom builder to make it easier for new people. ;)
There is a lot of good ideas, i hope just there will be more various map specially for the colors and not corridors only. But the hell looked fun.
I will buy it, i need to see more of this game, but need to wait 1 year : (((

A lot of excitement and anticipation for the reveal after so much time has passed and then everyone starts bitching about it (even people on DoomWorld bitching about the stupidest of things like the engravings on the SSG). Just remember what Doom 4 could have been like before it was rehashed.

Of course it's a fusion between Doom and Halo, and it looks like that they found inspiration on brutal doom, I'm sure that the devs played that mode. But the map builder looks nice, Imagine all the stuff you could do, it's sure that I'll take this game.

The artistic design is just awesome,especially for the monsters.

I m just feeling than the gameplay will be poor,a kind of Serious Sam/Callof with linear maps.
You will just have to blow ennemies and get refilled by their bonus.

only because halo indeed copy the doom guy style skin doesnt mean Doom 4 did copy halo

Imagine if we get the Doom 4 old footage (really Cod-like).....so yeah, im happy for this one. The style is ok for me, the gameplay and graphism remind me Quake 1 a lot, dark, gray, and fast paced with strong monsters, not a lot but they seem to have a lot of HP, it's good.
I suppose 8 giga RAM will be the minimum for a computer, the graphic card should be very good too :p

There is a lot of unnecessary whining regarding the graphics. Yeah they aren't the best, but the game is still unfinished and you could do a lot worse. Quite humorous considering the bitching is coming from people who play Doom 2. :rolleyes:

That's why listening all that vanilla lovers want/hate is a risky game (couf duke nuke forever couf couf)

it's always better get 10k of new players happy and just make mad 250 vanilla lovers than make a game for only 250 vanilla lovers (and by vanilla lovers I mean that guy that only playes at 320x240, never go to opengl, and even conplain about people who uses opengl in DOOM 2!!)

Very true! The game must be enjoyable for everyone, not only for the purist yeah but must not be casual or boring like a COD game, but it will be very fun anyways, and they have 1 year more to make it more awesome! Oh and yeah, there is some musics, like in the trailer, it looks like a remix of e1m1. hehe.... :)
Finaly, im very hyped but im sa too because i want this game now to do the finish, like RIP & TEAR! Need to do a finish on the mancubus! :D
And it's actually more violent and gore than Brutal DOOM (in the concept), i love it.
