RE: What would you like in DooM 4?
What I'd like:
-Gameplay a lá Brutal Doom. Few things are more satisfying than ripping out an Imp's spinal cord or firing a rocket into a crowd of zombies and watching their bloodied corpses fly.
-No disintegrating corpses/any of that crap. I prefer to actually enjoy my work.
-A sort of neoclassical art style; fusing classic Doom with modern-day futuristics, like Deus Ex. Bonus points for putting in a "dark future/cyberpunk" motif; as this is something Id Software's never really done.
-Fusing Doom/Doom 3 monsters or completely reworking the Doom monsters. I'm not exactly a big fan of a slobbering brute (D3 Hellknight) or a flying killer tomato (Classic Cacodemon).
-A game spanning from Earth to Mars to Hell. I'd love to explore great metropoli of Earth, a Martian landscape currently under terraforming, or the wasteland that is Hell.
-Speaking of Hell, I'd prefer something like Doom 64. Although classic Doom kind of hits the mark, Doom 3 felt nonsensical and shoehorned in, and Doom 64 appears more menacing and disturbing.
-As much as it sounds pleasing, a soundtrack composed entirely of heavy metal sounds somewhat clichéd and cheesy. Perhaps an industrial soundtrack would be better suited.
-An engaging storyline that's actually engaging. Doom 3 wasn't exactly the strongest story around, and Rage really dropped the ball when it came to story.
-Some actual body horror, and horror in general. Quake 4 did it right in body horror, F.E.A.R. did it rigt in general horror, whereas Doom 3 just had a few dismembered corpses and cheap scares.
-Sone actual exploration, a là Quake 2. Doom 3 just had a few hidden items, and FPSes feel more like movies than actual games.

Moar action means coolest style of being brutal. That's what I like in Doom since I was a kid and yet, only a few games offered what doom offer: action, CRAZY ACTION, BITCHES!!
Jump over a group of imp, shoot a rocket at the ground while still in the air and get the impulse done by the shot to get to a flying caco and perform a melee chainsaw in it's eye, drop some bombs in the ground to clean a bit of the horde and BOOM! And then some how throw the caco at the face of a fucking cybie and then cut it's leg. Everything in 30 seconds or less.
~~Pheeew... Pew pew pew!!!
I sometimes laugh when some sort of this situation happens, adding some crazyness to my moves even more. That is what I miss in games. A way of being crazy.
Only writing this made me feel some awesomeness.
Enough.

It'd be very interesting if it had an AI director that tries to encourage you to vary your game style, or locks certain paths to take path's you couldn't in your last run through game.
Also cutting edge laser weapon.. how many space games don't have these!? -of course for armor piercing jobs.. many demons have metal parts anyway-

More stuff like the Artifact and Soul Cube. And some altfire. I can do without ADS if I can get some good altfire.
A more open enviroment is also an improvement over Doom 3.

RE: What would you like in DooM 4?
I have a number of things that I want.
-I want DOOM 4 to have more action. It can still have some horror but not to D3's extent.
-The amount of weapons in DOOM 3 were perfect but it wouldn't hurt to add a few more.
+ Hell Weapons are a must have such as the Unmaker from DOOM 64, Soul cube from D3, and the artifact (Primitive) from D3: ROE.
-Multiplayer game modes especially co-op.
-The ability to Mod like any other Doom/Quake game unlike other FPS in todays generation.
-Lowered requirements so that pretty much anyone can enjoy the DOOM experience while still able to look Incredible in todays graphics.
-Have the game end with an epic battle such as the nexus or Makron in Quake 4 or the Cyberdemon in the DOOM series.

I am a gamer... What else is there to say?

I don't want the entire game to be a "cool story bro" where I occasionally shoot stuff.

Alot of "outside-action",not just fights in small, dark dungeons! Big colourfull worlds...
A fast player.
Basicly I'd like to have a Doom2-styled game with powerful graphics and "back to baisc"-feeling.
But when they release Doom4 most of the people of this comunity will be disappointed, as they love Doom1+2.
Perhaps it will be better than Doom3 (which was really shitty in my eyes) but it is nearly impossible to create something similar again... sad but true

This, And a handful of Metal and Eerie songs for its soundtrack. Also, more outdoor areas to explore. If Doom 4's going to take place on Earth and in cities, does anyone else think the player should be able to explore the city, like searching other peoples' homes to find health or weapons?Hellstorm Archon wrote: What I'd like:
