I don't see how this must be a bad thing however. From what I've seen and heard regarding W:TNO, the game seems to be nice, even better than what has been the previous one which looked too much like a cartoon to me.Michael_M88 wrote: So, is id software kind of giving up on Wolfenstein now and just giving it to others to deal with?

Here's some gameplay. And here's what the people has to say about it:derp wrote:Talentless hipster faggots desecrating another historical license. Have a nice E3 people.

Thanks for that video, game is looking great and seems like it borrows more from the original Wolf3D than newer titles.

I have an idea on why the Nazis won the war on WW2. Remember during Wolfenstein 3D when BJ killed Hitler and when he stole the Spear of Destiny? Maybe one of the mistakes is that BJ killed Hitler causing other High Ranking Nazi Officials to be the new fuhrer and allowed the production of Wonder Weapons, That's how Nazi's won WW2 on Wolfenstein: The New Order.

I just watched the gameplay video... I won't buy this ****.
idSoftware seems to be dead to me, this is not what I expected from the new Wolfenstein: ironsights, health regeneration, cripple movements. It looks a terrible game so far, nothing new or anyhow innovative besides the setting.

The New Order is being done by a new developer called MachineGames, not id. Who says it has to bring something new to the table, rather than straight-up old school action, but with a few modern elements?Luke wrote: I just watched the gameplay video... I won't buy this ****.

Plus, iron sights are completely optional, regenerating health is only done to the nearest multiple of 20, and moving at the speed of light isn't required to carry an entire platoon's worth of ordinance.
Besides, id's pretty much screwed itself over with the exceptionally poor handling of Doom 4 (case in point, they wanted to make a Rage 2 rather than save their own floundering flagship project they've started since 2008.)

I feel cautiously optimistic at this point. Theres so much pointing towards it going either way.
I do like this version of BJ alot more than Black hair BJ though.
EDIT:
Archon, I'm pretty sure they've said that they're intending to mix classic FPS elements (such as BJ carrying LOADSAGUNS) with some modern ones (like the limited health regeneration).

RE: Wolfenstein: The New Order (Added new Trailer)
sorry for the double post, but its news (sort of) so....
Various news sites have been posting their first impressions of the first 3 chapters of the game.
From what ive gathered, the gameplay is a mix of somewhat linear sections and more open sections with multiple paths and secrets. the game also gives a choice whether to go in guns blazing or take a stealthy approach (probably similar to far cry 3)
It is also very scripted (which might just for the first few chapters because of exposition) and has a Quintin Tarantino inspired story.
Another thing they've mentioned is a perk system. the website i read likened it to cod (ECH) but it seems to me that its probably more like the photography upgrades in bioshock or the tatau upgrades in far cry 3
overall not very suprising. sounds like pretty much what machine games has been saying. a mix of old school and new school elements

I will be buying on release, for Xbox One, all I can hope for is that it doesn't turn out to be another DNF...

It most likely won't.adamclare87 wrote: I will be buying on release, for Xbox One, all I can hope for is that it doesn't turn out to be another DNF...
Gearbox was rushing to get DNF finished and out the door as quickly as possible, whereas MachineGames is taking its time with making a smooth and polished product (I read somewhere that The New Order has been in development since 2009).

Adam Sessler looks way different than how I remembered him from X-Play. Nice gameplay footage though, and Nazi gibbing looks awesome! While the gameplay does look standard for an FPS, I can't honestly expect much more than we have. What more can we do with the FPS genre to make it feel new and exhilarating again?Captain Kupo wrote: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RAs9BJ-bLU

RE: Wolfenstein: The New Order (Added new Trailer)
"Wolfenstein: The New Order" is story-driven with tons of cutscenes, it's a dark FPS, it's ultra-violent and it has Nazis. Oh boy. It's kinda like Bioshock and any other FPS single player campaign out there. Hopefully there will be a spin on this, and the developers better not mess it up.
It sounds like a game that won't take itself too seriously, just when it's needed.

I've had enough of the news. They're nothing but opportunistic, sensationalist, scandalous and controversial fakes. This is their latest piece on how golf causes mass acts of violence:
