Estar's MIDI thread (and WIPs)

#1

Post by ESTAR » Mon May 18, 2015 11:12 am

Hi guys! I actually felt the need to do this because i need to be more organized so this will help me a lot, heh.

Since i joined the community back in Skulltag, i have loved everything regarding Doom, my love for this game and music took me into making these MIDI songs! :D

I hope you enjoy listening to some of 'em, or you can bully me with your thoughts of the songs aswell :P (but at least tell me what should I improve). Here we go:

Finished songs

-Arcanum Sanctum
The very first project I made when I went into MIDI stuff.

-Sonic OVA: South Island Theme (MIDI remake)
A request, this was easy to make so i just made it fast for the requester.

-NIGHTs - Reala's Theme
Well, when you're listening you say this obviously not MIDI. This is more like an "honorable mention", because it has MIDI instruments there, like the brasses, percussion, bass (first part). Basically is until 1:40, because after there I go non MIDI and it's original part.

Work In Progress
Generally the names you will see here are "provisional", :v:

AT THE MOMENT I'M WORKING IN:
-Brick 2.0
Nothing out of this world, just a generic orchestral rock.

OTHERS:
-Celtic Rock
Just something that could fit in Pirate Doom.

-Edd In Wonderland
This one is a large story, that involves Edd (from TM) in it. I somehow feel like I'm in a water base whenever i listen to it.

-Infer
I made this quick to show it to him.

-Intermission
Honestly, I don't know what I was thinking when I made this, all I know is that this is a somewhat 70's pop.

-OPreturnmeyeahikr(2)
The first song I made after temporary retire from making music. (like 1 year)

What I mean is instead of being .mid format, they are .mp3 format.

Ah that... Well that's to make it easier for you so you listen online, you won't have to download it and listen.

Well do you have the actual midis? You'd rather use those for wads.

That sonic one was actually pretty good, nice work. But since their midis, why is it an mp3 download?

It's still kinda weird, especially since it's likely that people who are interested in listening to midi have soundfonts and midi players already set up.

I like the Arcanum Sanctum one quite a bit. Would you mind positng a ZIP with all the MIDIs in it? I think us mappers would be very appreciative. Keep it up!

You probably should just put them all up for download.

Well, most of those songs, are going to belong to a project in making the MIDIs to, so, i will release it when the project is released aswell (that wont be so long), after that, i will give away the midis so you all guys can use it as you want. :D
