I can definitely understand the skepticism. I'll clear some things up for everyone. We (as in Torvald, Water, and myself) want to make an entirely new game, a psychological horror game to be exact, using the Doom engine. Obviously that's no easy task for just 3 people, so we decided to see if anyone would be interested in lending a hand.

"3d modeling"
Now you're askin too much
I'll not lie, this sounds like you need actually workers for ALL areas, is like you just write the history, and all the dirty/cool work is with the other guys...
Or do you have some skill with mapping/sound generator/composer/decorate/acs/3D models/... ?
As of right now Watermelon will be coding, Torvald and I have experience in mapping and some coding. We will be learning some of the other stuff as well. Belive me we will be very active with development.

I might help out, though if I do depends on three conditions.
1. You throw the project up on github, where it is easy to manage, to commit a change and to reverse a complete fuckup.
2. YOU TELL WTF THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE
3. That I actually end up with some free time, I have something around the lines of four exam projects to attend to. Although, if the timeframe of your project spans over long enough time, then I can help a share in the future. If it makes it to the summer vacation, this won't be a problem at all.
Points 1 and 2 are mostly to help you out, and to be honest also to spark my own interest in your project.
You can always leave me a PM if you are having ACS problems though, I might just about be able to solve an issue you are having.
I hope that your project will come together, although I agree with HeavenWraith that you might want to reconcider that format. If you cannot get the project to run this time, then I might be able to formulate another format for you in the summer vacation.
I actually didn't even know about github so thanks, I'll definitely look in to that. I'm sure it will take quite a while so if you're still interested when you have free time then we can try to work something out.

Well, I'd perhaps maybe could theoretically be willing to consider thinking about joining your little project... but only if you are willing to say
1:What is your project really about?
2:What are you capable of doing on your own? I mean, you can do anything Doom-related, or are you just the 'hey guys look at this story I wrote, this is where my input ends' type of guy?
(translator's note: Being that sort of guy isn't actually anything bad, but if you were able to provide a sample of what you're trying to make, that would really help you in getting followers, as opposed to having to rely on vague 'I need help' only. I'm perfectly okay with the possibility of you being 'just the leader', but seeing an example map / some basic sprites / some general ideas would definitely help in getting more folks to join you)[/size]
3:Why do you require a reference from us? For some reason, you don't sound like someone who has a reference on their own...
4:Who is this 'we' you keep talking about? Are you part of some organised party of developers? If so, why have you chosen Doom out of all possibilities? I mean, don't get me wrong, but... it's Doom, come on
5:Have you accepted Igor as our Lord and Savior?
6:How long do you think the work on this project of yours is going to take? I mean, given that Doom community is relatively slow if compared to others, did you take into account that finishing your project might well take a couple of years?
as I said before we are going to be very active in the development process. As for reference, you can't blame us for being a little cautious of who works on this. It's going to take quite a while but its something that we would really love to make happen given our love for a good horror game. And Igor is the only lord and savior.
