Quick-Switch To No-Mouselook?
Hey guys, I've been using Zandronum for a couple years now and I just made this forum account to ask if there was a way to quickly switch to default Doom mouselook? Like a fast way to disable mouselook, reticle, and turn always autoaim on and such, like a string of console commands or something? I usually like to play Doom without wads the normal way but it takes a long time to change all of them and then change them back. Also, I put this in here instead of 'Help' because the Help forums seemed to be only for "I can't play because x" issues. I would really appreciate an answer to my question, thank you for reading.
Oh, also if there's a way to change the view to the right angle without going spectate because turning mouselook off at an angle makes it look weird.

bind x "toggle mouselook; centerview; crosshair value_here"
Also make sure not to spam your autoaim bind if you're going to make one, or you'll get a server kick for flooding.

Thank you very much. Is there any way to toggle autoaim also or would I have to do that part manually?Kara Kurt wrote: bind x "toggle mouselook; centerview; crosshair value_here"

Yeah you can pretty much add ";toggle autoaim" right after, read my previous post back though I edited it.

For the crosshair would I have to have to keys for the value I want and no crosshair?Kara Kurt wrote: Yeah you can pretty much add ";toggle autoaim" right after, read my previous post back though I edited it.
Edit: Also, the bind "toggle mouselook; centerview; toggle autoaim" either works to enable mouselook but not disable it, or doesn't change mouselook at all. Am I doing something wrong?

RE: Quick-Switch To No-Mouselook?
Yeah I was wrong. It's "toggle freelook".
The value you type for crosshair changes the crosshair style, therefore 0 = disabled. Like every other command.
Ps: you can eventually do "toggle crosshair" to enable/disable it whenever you want.

RE: Quick-Switch To No-Mouselook?
I know 0 is disabled, and 7 is the one I have, but would I have to have two different binds? Also, toggle autoaim makes it medium instead of always. I'm not exactly sure what the differences between all of them are, but would medium suffice? And is there a way to make it always?Kara Kurt wrote: Yeah I was wrong. It's "toggle freelook".

RE: Quick-Switch To No-Mouselook?
1: You can have crosshair value and toggle crosshair in the same bind. So you pretty much hit your keybind if you want to turn it off and vice-versa. If that was your question.
2: I mean, if you wish so!
3: Make sure your autoaim is set to 5000 by default in player setup.
4: Medium will not be enough I'm afraid, make it 5000 (always), since Zandro's autoaim can be a pain in the arse sometimes.
Eh nevermind I got it; if you turn crosshair off and then on, it'll be automatically on 1, which is not what you want.
In order to fix that you can make a doublebind on the same key.
PS: So it is :
bind x "crosshair 7; toggle crosshair; toggle freelook; centerview"
doublebind x "crosshair 5000"
Make sure you don't spam it tho. Try it.
PS2: Ain't working on me, you'll get a server kick so forget that.

RE: Quick-Switch To No-Mouselook?
TOGGLE FREELOOK; CENTERVIEW; TOGGLE AUTOAIM; TOGGLE CROSSHAIR works mostly, the crosshair isn't too important, but the autoaim is terrible.
When I try "crosshair 7; toggle crosshair; toggle freelook; centerview" it's the same but never toggles the crosshair, it's always gone. If I put crosshair 7 infront of toggle crosshair it's always there never gone.

"crosshair 7; toggle crosshair"
...will never work.
You don't need "crosshair 7" if you're using a crosshair and not two, just make it "toggle crosshair".
About the autoaim, check this: https://zandronum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=4377

RE: Quick-Switch To No-Mouselook?
You could try a more brute-force rebind approach rather than toggles. That way you can be absolutely certain, since it confirms activation with a message.
EDIT: My bad, Capo reminded me that if you change autoaim too fast, the server will kick you for user info change flood. Just be careful about that. I think it's because autoaim settings are in the Player Options menu, so it's treated the same as, you know, name and colour change spam. I dunno.
Code: Select all
bind kp0 freelookon
alias freelookon "freelook 1; autoaim 0.5; crosshair 7; echo Freelook Enabled.; rebind freelookoff"
alias freelookoff "freelook 0; autoaim 5000; crosshair 0; centerview; echo Freelook Disabled.; rebind freelookon"

RE: Quick-Switch To No-Mouselook?
Maybe bind x "autoaim 5000" / doublebind x "autoaim 0"
RE: Quick-Switch To No-Mouselook?
I'd advise against this for reasons in my last post. A bind/doublebind approach is likely to trigger a kick.Kara Kurt wrote: Maybe bind x "autoaim 5000" / doublebind x "autoaim 0"

RE: Quick-Switch To No-Mouselook?
You shouldn't get kicked for toggling autoaim on GV, I took care of that long ago. If the opposite is true, let me know.

I just tested on B-E and I remembered encountering it on NJ FC, so my bad if it's a server-toggleable setting.
