Actually, blue screens are most of the time caused by faulty hardware, and in rare cases by faulty drivers. In this case I'd do a backup copy of most important data, check your hard drive and expect imminent failure.Klofkac wrote: Linux. It's an operating system, not application. I think it was the driver issue this time, because I was fiddling with mounting ext4 partition to put the stuff there.Zalewa wrote:Actually, blue screens are most of the time caused by faulty hardware, and in rare cases by faulty drivers. I just remembered. There is this one Program, that allows you to change your brightness on the Fly.. Even though I haven't used it much but it has its own source in it..
QuickGamma 0.1.1 w/ Source
I can't remember why the author gave up on it, but eh.. It still works.. not sure for Windows Vista and up though, but it should.

RE: Freeware or Open Source Programs/Applications
Last time I booted it up it said something about DirectX and GPU and not working for Laptops. I don't Know could be my laptop being lame but it was weird. I guess it needed a certain DirectX that Laptops can't run? That was a while back so I'm not sure what its like now.Tiger wrote:Why would a software have a specific form factor requirement? That's outrageously ridiculous if this is actually true, but looking over the site - I don't see anything relating to this....MrSetharoo wrote: OBS is good but it doesn't run on Laptops. Like it literally says "You have a laptop? mmmm sorry man can't let you do that"

Prevent eyestrain at night, and possibly avoid insomnia.
Hotkeys Alt+PageUp and Alt+PageDown dims (or brightens) the screen.
Can be temporarily disabled before doing color sensitive picture/photo editing, and has a less severe "movie mode".

RE: Freeware or Open Source Programs/Applications
There is also Minimizor That I use every day. All it does, is Minimize and Maximize the game. Saves the trouble of alt-tabbing. It works with any games that have DirectX or OpenGL render. It even works on Zan just fine.
Just remember when it does start up, you will see its icon in the taskbar. Right Click on it and click on Options. Set a hot key, and your set. There are other settings like.. restore Gamma, Windows Default Gamma, which is useful for when Zan crashes out. Its a pretty nice program.
There are other projects on the Site. Not sure if the guy who created this is still working on it, but its nice to have.
