Who told you he was lagging ? High ping doesn't mean lag and also i had that glitch happening a lots of time and i wasn't lagging at all just the view going down..

From my view of that little snippet, I could take a shot at what happened from his POV.

- With that ping, his player view dropped below the bridge and he thought that he could get a clean shot, from his view on the ground, due to the lag he was able to see the flag carrier, and attempted to run after him. (Notice how he moves forwards towards the wall)

It's happened to me a ton with my current 250 ping on IDL Map 4 a bit. It would explain why he backed up to drop off the bridge. As for the snapping towards the player, that could be questioned, but it's not that hard to swingshot towards a non moving target.

P.S: If he has a POV demo as well, that's more than enough to prove otherwise.

Unfortunately he doesn't

@Decay I can't figure out how, i have tried every option. I don't think Slaerd, an 11(or is he 13 now?) year old French person is able to manipulate it to only make it lock on horizontal(no offense to Slaerd).

well first off before the transition to zandronum and I was let back in I did not hack 1 time so I'd like it if you didn't bring me into that situation or compare me with Slaerd. Now I for one do have experience in using the skullhack 1.6 and I can say right now. combined with a UDP lag Emulator [proxy to control my ping or rate of flow on packets] and deadlock my ping at 700, I could garuntee 2 of 3 things will happen. 1. A wallhack would be needed plus a slow smoothing [42] toggled aimbot. 2. would see them on my end going under the bridge [HUGE lag but no garuntees] and try and shoot them while the server gives a large delay between client [700 ping] to server. or 3. unkown glitch. [I didn't have this glitch yall are taking about the aim under the bridge thing.]
Now I've tested the theory. and judging by my own experience and knowledge of the used hack. I will state he was WH and he used a toggled aimbot on a 20+ smooth setting.

I may be wrong though. it's just my oppinion based off trails I've conducted.

For the time being his ban has been lifted. For now I'm going to leave his ban up to the server hosts (On their own servers). I would like this debate to continue. I personally (Note: Personally, I don't speak for the staff here) believe he was cheating. I have no reason to trust him. But that's just my opinion.

(SLAERDS BAN! Not Kal Foxis...)

try and simulate exactly what happened according to that vid. and bring the reults here. because im not having that aim under the bride glitch at all. no mater if I was from 250+ to 900+ [950 being the limit of playable before it bitches about connection problems]

I have that same glitch happen to me when i play on gv alot. where you cant move forward even when your POV says your under the bridge. almost like a wall infront of you (even though there is)

It's client sided, or at least I think it is. Servers however have a way of detecting aimbots as long as it's admins are present. In all other cases a POV demo can show if someone does hack.

I'm trying to get Slaerd to demo everything from now on. Only problem is that he is getting an error. It's "Can't read skulltag.lmp". He uses Ide.

I'm sure there's an easy solution to this, i just don't know it. What does he have to do so he stops getting this error?

I think that error is when your trying to review a demo. if he's getting the error send the demo to someone who might not have that same problem

Yes it's true, i just talked with Slaerd again. Every demo he records is saved as Skulltag.cld which he can't run unless he renames them. Every time he records a new one it overwrites the old one because they are all named the same. How can this be changed so they are actually named correctly (date + wads used)?

That means nothing... you use ZRC separately. ALSO Connecting via IDE wouldn't have cause this. I might not know about this stuff but I'm pretty sure this problem is from the client-side of Skulltag/Zand and not IDE/Doomseeker.

I'm just going to state my views on things and the points brought up here in a general fashion.

For one, yes, he was aiming downward, not upward. Think about the position of the player from on top of the bridge, and at the bottom of the staircase. Sure, you can see his crosshair is slightly above the target player, BUT his actual aim is below a 90-degree angle. If you were to take the centered view of a player and draw a horizontal line across the middle of the screen that shifted upwards/downwards based on your aim, his aim would actually be below it. But if you were standing at the bottom of that staircase, your aim should actually be higher and above it, aiming UP at the the player to shoot them. The second video reinforces this, as you can clearly see, when he backs off a bit from the wall, that he is still not really aiming upwards, but downwards.

One funny thing I see is that his first shot in the video actually lands on the wall before his aim snaps to the target. My guess is THAT is where the "lag" is, but he wasn't necessarily lagging enough to fall through the bridge.

Also, in the video, you can see him strafe around a slight bit, yet both shots are DEAD ON (or I should say his crosshair aim, since lag probably caused the first shot to appear off. See above). Even against a stationary target, if you were both lagging AND not hacking, both of those shots would not be perfectly precise. On top of this, the fact that you can't really move during a hard lag spike, yet in the video not only did you move around but both shots were perfectly centered. If you were lagging under the bridge and were just shooting what you saw, then your aim would have been in different places, not perfectly square on your opponent.

My $0.02.

[EDIT] Also, in regards to the aimbot not aiming right at the person's center, remember that Doom weapons fire from below the player's view height; it's possible that the bot compensates for this so that shots are actually square to the target.
