Elder Scrolls Online
Well now that the NDA has been lifted, I'm free to talk about the beta for Elder Scrolls Online.
So first thing's first, who wants to buy it? (I did already.) If not, why not?
If you participated in the beta as well, please share your opinion of the game as far as you've seen. What did you like? What did you hate?
My take:
For the most part, I particularly like the semi-classless build. I had quite a bit of fun running around as a heavy armored great sword wielding sorcerer. It's difficult to find any bad qualities in the game from what I saw from the beta (apart from the horrendous lag the first day) save that it didn't seem to take well to group questing. Granted it was the beta, so it is probably something they will fix. (Some boss monsters were nearly impossible to kill without backup.) I like the atmosphere of the game, (Spent most of my time in Morrowind and Skyrim) and greatly enjoyed running around meeting npc's like Sheogorath. (Who is as entertaining as ever.) The graphics were top notch, the game controls were very tight, and the music was great. PVP was great with a very strong emphasis on cooperation. Overall, I'm very impressed with the game.

RE: Elder Scrolls Online
After spending around 2 weeks downloading it (because of the downloader being really slow, and then losing the metafile data after getting past 50%, making me start the download from 0 again), I get this on startup:

I don't think I want to buy it anymore.

RE: Elder Scrolls Online
i've heard some things about this game and i havent seen any trailer, but still, i really dont know what to expect, Elder Scrolls saga has never been made for multiplayer, the only ones i have played(2, 4 and 5) had a gameplay mode which, if it had multiplayer, it would be unbalanced or uncomfortable
RE: Elder Scrolls Online
You never played Morrowind? That's a good one, generally considered to be better than Oblivion. It's not too late. Get it, install that facelift mod, and enjoy.

If I am completely honest, I was a little underwhelmed by the game. I had the opportunity to beta test it a few weeks ago and was left feeling like it was a generic mmo with an elder scrolls skin. I did have fun with it, just not as much as I was hoping for. That being said, I predict it will go the way of Star Wars: The Old Republic.

This was by far the gist I got out of most of the people who had legitimate complaints about the game during the beta. (Not the freakin' WoW whiners, people with legitimate complaints.)Ruin wrote: If I am completely honest, I was a little underwhelmed by the game. Reply: I've heard it said that the Elder Scrolls games are practically offline mmo's. But I guess if you were expecting Skyrim online, you'd probably be a little disappointed. (I'm not saying you were, just addressing the whiners.)
Lord of Hell: Morrowind's battle system is entirely statistically based. I guess if you can't manage a handful of stats we could call that bad.
Also, ESO didn't have terrible balance problems mainly because even though anybody could use any weapon skills you could only have one weapon equipped at a time until you get to level 15. (Meaning unless you were a templar or sorcerer, you couldn't spam heals and use massive dps magic at the same time.) The game uses the skyrim base stat build (Health, Magicka, and Stamina instead of the laundry list of stats) and adds in a handful of mmo perks. Honestly, it's kind of like skyrim meets morrowind.

I'm not sure, but I think you can't add mods to the xbox version. There are so many mods for Morrowind that it would be a shame to not be able to use them.Lord_of_D: wrote: im thinking on buying it for Xbox, i saw it once in like 6 dolars :3

This is something that I used to be excited for. This, and many other games. But then my awesome gaming computer took a crap on me, and now I have a laptop that really can't play anything (except DooM, thank God). Also, my wife hates it when I play video games. In short, this is only a dream for me and it always shall remain so...
