As said above, I liked the REC 1+2 movies, although they are in Spanish with English subs, so not sure if thats your thing.

Chromeskull and Chromeskull 2. Only if you're a fan of splatter-flicks though, these movies get really messy and it's so intense.

Quarntine -Watch [REC] its what this one is a remake of
Planet Terror -Not your typical but its decent
Return of the living dead 3 -Underrated because all others in the series are comedy while this isnt
The hills have eyes
Cabin Fever -More disgusting than horror
No mentions of the exorcist? You should watch the older nightmare on elm as well :P

Do zombie films still count as horror?

Terrible film, idk what the appeal of it is. Not scary, not interesting, not clever, rubbish cliched (perhaps on purpose) story.
