Spiral Knights

Apparently Fluttershy plays Spiral Knights. (omfg gremlin porn KILL IT WITH FIRE)

For the uninformed Spiral Knights is a game by Three Rings Design (makers of Puzzle Pirates, which some of you might be familiar with) that's about chibi knight people who explore a planet made of clockwork stuff. Gameplay-wise, it's basically A Link to the Past in MMO form, plus a Pokemon thing that basically gives you some extra skills and perks as you feed it crafting materials. It's free-to-play, but thanks to some recent updates you don't really need to buy anything at any point unless you want to pimp your gear enough to be competitive in the game's (small, toxic, furry-laden) PvP mode. There's a cash shop currency (called Energy; it's a lore thing) but anything that you need energy for you can also get buy playing the game and you can buy it from other players with the basic currency.

So, anyone else play this?

I played it in Fluttershy's guild for a while. But the grind just got too tedious after a while. Mind you, this was before elevators were free.

Yeah, the grind is still there to an extent, but the orb system (meaning that F2P crafting doesn't necessarily require buying lots of energy off the market first) and the existence of Elite difficulty (which you should be playing anyway, since enemies are retarded) makes getting gear a good deal easier.

EDIT: Also, what's Fluttershy's guild? Please tell me it's Doom-themed.

I didn't think anyone would recognize where that's from. WOOPS.

But yeah, I've been playing Spiral Knights for about a year now. The game is definitely enjoyable, although I will admit, the previous fatigue system that was in effect back then was a bit of a drawback, but I still managed to live with it, most of the time using the in-game currency, known as crowns, to fuel my need for adventures.

I'm currently a Vanguard on there, and I become one back in about mid-August, and I've been playing since last November.

As for the guild I'm in, it's Vicious Celestine, something that might seem familiar across the forums.
