I just got the Deathadder 2013

I just got the Razer Deathadder 2013 and its pretty sweet. I had an MX518 and kind of hated it.. In the last 3 years I had it I still feel I never really got used to it.

However there is a bit of an issue. I have a black steelseries mousepad that worked fine with the MX518. With the Deathadder however, I get a "spinning" issue that randomly makes my mouse spin out of control. I know lots of Doomers also have Deathadders, and does anyone else have this problem? Did you get it solved? How?

Any help would be appreciated!

Zandro should def be supporting higher polling rates nowadays imo. Particularly when some mouses don't work well with low polling rates.

I had it set to 500. What DPI do you use? I have mine set to use 1800 for Doom ports because I was hoping it would help me transition from my MX518 better but its just not working.

I have mine at max(3200(?)) and it's working fine. That's quite odd.

2013 owner and i have the same issue aswell. Actually this is my second mouse as even after the rma i still have the spinning issue.
What i encourage u to do is reply to this thread and tell them your situation
http://www.overclock.net/t/1344132/deat ... g-issue/40

and reference that thread to razer support since its probably beter to have one place where there are several ppl voicing their complaints
support-us@razersupport.com

they insist this is isolated issue and they cant reproduce this issue.
So im hoping with more people replying to overclock thread it should convinced them otherwise

I use a cyborg RAT7 2012, and a steel series sensie RAW (call of duty Black ops 2 edition.) my rat 7 tend to have a drifting issues similar to what your having which is why I bought a steel series. my rat appearently was so sensitive it was picking up vibrations from my computer to make it drift like it did. the death adder with a steel series mousepad thing goingon here is that the mouse pad was built for steel series or non infered twin eye laser mice. so if that death adder has the same laser as my rat 7 don't use that mouse pad. get a GLIDE 9 from cyborg and see if that will help. dpi doesnt really play much with that as I use 1000hz on both my gaming mice.

After looking at the specs of the death adder it seems it doesnt use the twin eye laser that my RAT7 uses, please disregaurd my comment about the glide 9 mouse pad. but I do recoment using it on different surfaces and see which surface delivers better results. like I use to use my old hp optical on the arm of my couch chair. my steel series works better on that then the top of my computer chassi or my desk or any mouse pad I currently own.

That's disheartening that the 2013 edition seems to be having problems. The older version which I have has been completely perfect to me HeX. If you got this from amazon you might just wanna send it back and get the older deathadder version mate.

I've never used an adder, (I use a Naga myself) but it would seem to me that the consensus of the adjusting the polling rate might fix the problem. If that doesn't fix it, you might check to see if your mouse is becoming disconnected (if you hear the Windows device disconnect sound, that's a pretty strong indicator) or if you use a mouse pad, that might be the cause.

I must say from experience some modern mouses just dont work well in doom. I had the Roccat Nova+ I think it was called and with low polling rate my firing was off but with high my weapon scrolling was off. I'd warn anyone against getting one, maybe there should be a list of decent mouses for doom :3

That spinning issue happened to me whenever I used an optical mouse on a colourful mouse pad. Might help your case too.

no, this is a deathadder 2013 sensor issue. it might be bad batch but me, including other ppl has exhausted all kind of possible causes. Razer support in the end told us to rma since they cant figure out what issue it is.

Whatever u do dont buy deathadder 2013 until its solved
