Anyone else hear about this game? It's more or less an oldschool shooter with 2D sprites and a focus on fast paced gameplay. It also has a bit of a megaman feel in the fact your weapons are all projectile based, but I consider that a good thing. Definitely planning on buying it when it's a full release.

Spoiler: Slightly off topic (Open)TBH, when Carn first announced his project Vega and explained it, this was pretty much what I imagined it'd look like before the screenshots came. XD

You should play it, it's really refreshing. The engine does this thing where the world tilts as you stride so you feel even faster playing it. Very satisfying.

Well here we go:
- The game looks like something someone made in Zandronum (actually it would probably be pretty easy to make a perfect copy) seeing as it uses the quake engine. If you're going to use make the game 2D Wolfenstein style, keep it consistent, if you're going to randomly throw in detailed 3D geometry then the game needs to be 3D throughout the whole thing. Honestly it looks like the game was 2D at one point and then the developers decided it needed to be 3D so someone came in and started randomly adding 3D geometry.
- None of the monsters are particularly challenging at all... the only danger in the game is jumping into a liquid you won't be able to get out of.
- Secrets are too easy and predictable, basically just shoot every wall that has a unique texture.
- Also, having to spam mouse1 with the pistol makes my hand hurt after a while. It seems to be just as strong as the first gun you get (which is not in slot 2 by the way, its in slot 3 for some reason...)
- The pistol shots also just randomly disappear after about 3 map tiles, for unknown random reasons.
- The controls boast mouselook, but it doesn't exist. You can't even look up and down with the keyboard although the buttons are bound by default. This is really annoying in a particular case where the level has enemies that are higher than you and you can't even shoot them (you have to shoot everything else.)
- The sprite based decor really looks bad when you look at it and compare it to the rest of the stuff, because there is 3D geometry that looks similar, and the sprites don't look up to par with the gun and enemy sprites.
- It was boring. No challenge, no deaths, all the secrets without even revisiting rooms to hunt for them.

Actually I gotta admit I pretty much beat the thing in one go. Just playing the first couple maps again after reading that... and yes, doesn't feel as shiny as I remembered it. Then again the last game I played before I tested out RB was some shitty 360 game I didn't really care for. Everything's golden when you compare it to that. XD
