Join-banning should be banned (disabled)
NOONE should have the right to join a server JUST to ban someone.
(execpt maybe an admin)

there have been trolls that have switched from vocal(text) trolling to ban trolling and log in to servers with two or three accounts at a time and ban ban ban until the cows come home, possibly affecting several players a day, several servers an hour, until all the more skilled players are gone and they "rule doom" but are really just cowarding behind their looser-banning.

this is either harrassment, abuse, OR an attempt to reduce the number of people that love Zandronum/SkullTag/DOOM/ECT !
and has been getting worse over time as people that never really played the original DOOM in DOS and find Skulltag/Zandronum to troll all over the place.

and like most people, its not a selling point for the game, ...
YOUR game admins and devs!!!

so what do i want in the game? its not what i want, its what everyone secretly wants once in a while, but lack the "guts" to ask for on a public thread.

everyone (most likely) wants the game to prevent ban-trolls from banning other players until they have been in the server for at least a good 15 minutes or so.... dont like the server because other people are more skilled? then leave.

PS: and maybe max 2 bans per ban-er, per hour...

thank you admins and devs in advance for turning a technically great game into a PLAYABLE game...

0) ive used the same(almost...color ect) screen name for Skulltag for YEARS, and im assuming everyone would too IF THEY COULD!
1) i dont name names
2) ppl doing this, change names often, and use other ppl's names, trolls use other trolls's names... confusing i know
3) these ppl ALWAYS leave after a bit... or maybe its play by themselves?
4) umm in coop/invasion mode ive noticed
5) and i know things #2 and #3 because i know how to reset my IP address... on/off button :P
6) im waiting to download and try Zandronum until this feature is implemented and may even stop playing SkullTag until such issuses are resolved. and im suprised SkullTag didnt already have this "feature"

PPPS:
not everyone knows how to, or is technically ABLE-to reset thier IP in seconds... some people have modems and ISP's that prevent this unless modem is off for days... longer then the IPban!

yes, and how people enter a server and use said option without really caring to actually PLAY the game... after(EDIT: while) i reset my modem they leave the game before i can get back and say (rude) things... 10 minutes later they(multiple accounts, one human) votekick again.

and voting is SO fast that its obvious one human many accounts! (against SkullTag rules, and im assuming Zandronum rules too)

PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST ONE AND A HALF SECONDS TO READ VOTE AND HIT VOTE KEYS ON KEYBOARD!!!!!!!! but with this person(s) there is less then 1 second and its very hard to vote no.

so its embarrassing too! didnt have time to hit "voteNO" for kick me!

EDIT: what im trying to say is NO-one should be allowed to votekick until theyve been in the server for a few minutes... would slow down the rule breaking and provide less of a reward in their brains.
remember they arent actually PLAYING DOOM, theyr joining rooms just to kick!

they could be using a second computer with "borrowed" wifi and thier main comp with own internet... you dont need good ping just to votekick! lol

EDIT: often ISPs will give you an emergency dial up account with your ADSL for when its not working. they can log on with second computer and votekick... its only for 2 mins at a time so no majour chagres or missed phone calls

put it this way, your playing in an empty room for an hour, possibly alone, then two players join within one or two seconds of each other, then 2 or 3 seconds after that "it" makes a vote and BOTH VOTE YES WITHIN 1 SECOND!
30 - 60 seconds later, (after new IP for me) they are no longer in the room.

happens again, and again, and again. once in a while "it" says: "how you get here?" so obviously it does not know what resetting IP address is and also is not english first launguage, they dont know how to ask how did i get around an IP ban...

It wouldn't have helped. The vote only passes once either the time runs out or a majority have already voted "Yes." All you could have done was to demonstrate that you don't want to be banned, and I think that's already obvious.

Also I'm not sure what you're even asking. If this is an abuse report, please contact the moderators of the server in question. If this is a feature request, then the proper place is http://zandronum.com/tracker/.

Let's ask the more important question, which is: What did YOU do to incite such an act. I mean come on; cause & effect. People don't just vote kick you out of the server to spite you unless you have had some direct correlation with them prior to your described events.
Anyone here will tell you the same thing: No one does that without reason, and the people who actually do it out of spite, have been long since banned.


Also I'm behind Qent when you say that you reset your modem to rejoin, which is considered ban evading. If you want justice just be prepared to pay the price. Anyways, feel free to give the name(s) of the "person"/ people that supposedly kicked you. Zandronum is an incredibly small community and everyone here knows each-other on a personal level. So it wouldn't be hard to identify the suspect(s).

So what server did this happen on? I can probably help you as an admin on GV. If it happened on some Oblacek server you're out luck.

Some people are arseholes and try to vote kick someone out for no reason. Best thing to do, don't moan, just go on a different server there's loads of servers.
