I've used all the listed midi devices but none of them sound exactly that thrilling, is it possible to create your own sound banks? Like say, in a similar to how a soundfont works? Many thanks to any one who reads this.

Try
BASSMIDI with the
SC-55 soundfont. It's a soundfont that emulates the Roland SoundCanvas 55 MkII, which is the device Bobby Prince composed the Doom music on.
Here's a preview of what you can expect it to sound like. The guitars aren't 100% similar, but it's close enough and everything else is pretty faithful.

I imagine the soundfont works in other synthesizers, but it doesn't in Timidity. Then again, from combing a few Doom forums, the only reason Timidity is used is because it was apparently the only option back in the early Zdoom days and it's just left over. Folks in those forums agree there's far better alternatives these days.

You can layer separate soundfonts like you would Doom pwads, to achieve what you'd like. You can also use .pat (patch) files for individual instruments.

Holy dick it actually works, thanks a ton dude! I have like 122 soundfonts so I'll probably end up mashing them all into one I like the best.
