How do you

I realized that the player is very short in comparison to the textures and geometry needed to accompany those textures. I figured a simpler solution than re sizing the whole map would be to just change the player's height. But I am unsure on how to do so.

People have done this before. See: Doomero's old csbeta wad. It doesn't really work well.

Also, player speed is 1? So it is impossible to go slower than the current rate of speed the doomguy already travels? Even the walking pace is quite obnoxious.

There's ways to change it, I'd highly recommend looking at mods.

The speed property doesn't only accept whole numbers. 1 is actually a good number imo. That way you can precisely multiply the speed of doomguy or divide it. Changing the speed to 0.5 will make the doom guy run 2 times slower. Changing the speed to 2 will make doom guy run 2 times faster.

I wasn't sure if it only accepted whole numbers or not. I assumed most values associated with editing were the basic 1 to 255 and only dealt with whole numbers. Thank you for the info.
