Models and Weapon.PreferredSkin
Models and Weapon.PreferredSkin
Is there a way to combine the use of MODELDEF and the Weapon.PreferredSkin property, if so, how? I am not sure who the skins technically belong to (in DECORATE) so I am not sure how to write the MODELDEF info, I already tried saying they belonged to the player class I created for them, but it failed. Any help, or an example wad would be wonderful. Thanks.
RE: Models and Weapon.PreferredSkin
I never messed with models before, the first thing you could do is to look into another wad with a similar function (i.e. aow2 or hunters moon). That could solve your problem. What i think you actually need to do is set some kind of property in the playerclass.
As said, I have never messed with models before and I cant directly help you. Hope I have helped you in some way

RE: Models and Weapon.PreferredSkin
Modeldefs can only be applied to actors that actually have the frames you're replacing.
A theoretical workaround would be to add an unused state with all your skin's frames, and then replace those frames in your modeldef. I have no idea if that actually works, but you could give it a shot.

RE: Models and Weapon.PreferredSkin
@Lollipop: I tried looking at both of the wads you suggested, but AOW2 seems to only use weapon.preferredskin and Hunters Moon only seems to use models, but not both in either case, which is what I need.
@-Jes-: I tried including some dummy states in the player classes, but it didn't make a difference, i'm thinking that skins don't actually belong to the PlayerClass they are applied to.
I think there was a version of DS-Models that somebody made for Skulltag that had weapon.preferredskin also used, if anybody has this or knows where I can find this (If i'm even remembering correctly...) please let me know.
