I recently came across this mod called Pogostick and I'm interested in making a Sonic-like mod out of it. Of course I want the character to shoot too, so I just want to know if there's a way that after running for about 5 seconds the player can accelerate further and his animation changes to the running animation, that way while not running it'll be easier to shoot.

Basically I want a teal Sonic with a gun (the light blue one in my avatar is old), but I'll use the Sonic sprite from Sonic Robo Blast 2 and add firing animations for testing.

Theres lots of ways to do what you want, but don't be able to expect to modify PogoStick without atleast a moderate understanding of what you're doing.
Also pogostick is a horrible base for a mod. (I know this from experience.)
