Caught in range ban still.

#1

Post by Michael712 » Thu Nov 01, 2012 7:25 pm

I've been having a lot of range ban issues this year, and it's getting on my nerves more and more.

I was caught in a range ban around April - July, and for a lot of this month. It's starting to get more and more frustrating for me, especially at the moment as I'm missing out on Halloween goodness. Is there anything at all that can be done about this range ban so that I'm not constantly bothered by it?

(IP is dynamic, with the last two numbers changing daily)

Find a new ISP/become un-dynamic.

>change your ISP just so you can play a game without disturbance

And sadly that´s pretty much everything you can do in order to permamently solve this problem, given that you find an ISP with static IP addresses, otherwise the same problem will repeat if some other kid gets banned on the ISP you moved to.

Another solution would be to have some sort of account system so your IP gets automatically whitelisted every time you log in, but imagine what would happen if cheaters themselves got passwords for such accounts, by any means.

I phoned up my ISP before but they didn't let me have a static IP. Since I'm not the person that's in charge of the internet access in the home, there isn't much I can do with that. So yeah, I'm stuck with this ISP.

I'm still getting banned again whenever my IP changes (happens daily each morning).
