Summary | 0001822: sv_forcerandomclass 1 takes/hides intventory
Description | See screenshot. Whenever I die or complete a map, the game seems to have taken all of my weapons and items.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Start Zandronum. 2. Type "sv_forcerandomclass 1" into the console. 3a. Type "kill" into the console and respawn. This will take everything in your inventory. 3b. Type "nextmap" into the console. This will hide your weapons until you type "use pistol".
Additional Information | This happens in both 1.3 and 2.0.

Can you give me some quick instructions to do on my comp? like: map map01 ... map map01? |

I cannot reproduce this in doom2. But i was trying to convert pirate doom to be compatible with zan 2.0 and this did happen whenever I exited a level. Tested with the same build. |

This has been tested further and it appears that sv_forcerandomclass has something to do with this; whenever I die, all of my items are taken away, but whenever I change maps (via nextmap) my items are still there. These circumstances only happen whenever sv_forcerandomclass is set to true. |

Please check if this fixes the map change related issues. Note: The fix may have side effects on the LimitedToTeam player property. Please test thoroughly that this still works as expected. |

The map change issue is fixed. Limitedtoteam does not appear to be affected by this. |

Regarding loosing your inventory: Are you referring to the fact that your inventory is reset to the default after you respawn? I'm not sure whether we should count this as bug. If you change your class, you lose your inventory. That has to be like this because there is class specific inventory. So, when you are forcing a random class, this will take away your inventory upon respawning. Of course there is a chance that you will respawn with the same class, but it would be very unfair if this coincidence is rewarded with keeping your inventory. One option I see to fix this would be to simply turn off sv_forcerandomclass in cooperative game modes where people expect to keep their inventory. Another option would be not to archive sv_forcerandomclass so that you don't accidentally keep it on when you are playing coop. |

We discussed this among the devs on IRC and came to the conclusion that this still needs some refinement. |
