Failed to allocate bytes from process heap
Failed to allocate bytes from process heap
Hey all, been dealing with this frustrating error for the last few months and I can't seem to crack what the problem is or even when and how it shows up.
I've been getting this error:
Failed to allocate 7042560 bytes from process heap
Depending on the wads loaded, that number will change. Currently this was on an RGA server with mek-catk.wad but I've also experienced it with WoC as well.
I know it is a memory issue and I'm just not sure where the leak is coming from. I've been keeping my eye on RAM usage as suggested in other threads but it never went over 240MB usage and mek-catk.wad is a rather small wad compared to what I usually play (chillax, AV2, etc)
Any help would be appreciated

To the best of my knowledge I'm not recording any demos, I honestly don't know how toCombinebobnt wrote:turn off demo recording the demo is getting too fat

Yeah, do check if you're recording demos, and if you are stop and see if the problem fixes. Also make sure you're not using any of the High Quality Resize Modes as these have been proven to leak memory overtime. If both of these options fail increase the amount of virtual memory on your system.
If all else fails then your best bet would be to start with a fresh .ini.

Not sure how to check if I'm recording any demos. How would I go about doing that?

Actually, it's tricky to check whether a demo is currently being recorded without stopping it, but unless you activated demo recording in Doomseeker or Doom Explorer and use them to launch Zandronum, you can't be accidentally recording a demo since Zandronum needs to be started with the necessary command line option to start recording.Greg` wrote:Not sure how to check if I'm recording any demos. To be sure that you are not recording, open the console and call disconnect. If it says "Demo ... successfully recorded!", you were recording and the disconnect from the server stopped the recording.
