Bots Attack Monsters?

Bots Attack Monsters?
How can I do this? I want to have a deathmatch with bots and monsters. But the bots just act like a human pinata to the monsters. Is there, like a mod or something to make them kill the monsters? But yet, still attack humans/other bots?

to elaborate on what combinebobnt said, they cant attack monsters as they were hardcoded to attack players and bots. they were made a realy long time ago and from what i remmeber the code was too messy to aperantly improve them.

You could use Decorate to make new monsters that look like players to replace the bots. Their AI would be the same as the monsters (stupid), but they would attack players and monsters. I am a newb to Decorate myself, but I have read about something called thing_hate that should help.

The simple fact is that Carnevil lost the botscript (de)compiler, and as such making large scale changes to zandronum (skulltag) bot behavior is currently unfeasible.
Dusk IS however developing a proper decompiler, and Torr has implied he's willing to further extend bot functionality once that's done.

Apologies for the thread bump, but any progress in this part for a future version of Zandronum? They still don't shoot monsters in the current version.

Bot capabilities won't be extended until a proper utility for modders to work with bots has been created. Dusk stopped working on BotC in 2014 IIRC. In any case, it is developed no more.
Maybe if he shared his knowledge on the instruction specification someone would make such a utility.

yea singleplayer bots are probably near the bottom of the list for importance. your best bet would be trying to code it yourself or wait for zandronum 5.0 idk lol

If you are looking for good bots, Zandronum is surely not the place where you should ask.
I recommend you to check Doom Legacy, that port isn't as popular as Zandronum but have a lot of very interesting features that in my opinion Zandroum should have added since years like split-screen mode and of course useful bots in coop attacking monsters and following the player.

I think a better idea may be to replace them with the ZCajun bots, at least until they can be re-coded again or upgraded.
