Hello there, I am planing to buy an new updated computer for myself in which I am in disparately need of. I know little about processors, so That's why I am here asking about this. Anyways here's the question.

I would like to know if this new computer is strong enough to play modern video games without LOW FPS killing the game.
------------------------------------------------------
Here's my current computer's performous and information.

Processor: Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60 Ghz
RAM: 1.00 GB
SystemType: Vista 32-bit

------------------------------------------------------
The computer I am planing of getting.

System: Windows 7
Processor Brand: AMD
Processor Platform: AMD VISION A6 APU
Processor: AMD A6-Series
Processor Speed: 2.6GHz
Cache Memory: 4MB on die Level 2
System Memory (RAM): 8GB
Type of Memory (RAM): DDR3 SDRAM
Hard Drive Type: SATA (7200 rpm)
Hard Drive Size: 1TB
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6530D
Video Memory Up to 4089MB total available

Link: The computer's complete information
----------------------------------------------

So tell me, is this good enough for gaming? And also, What's better Intel or AMD? Thanks again guys.

Why don't you build it yourself ?

EDIT: For the question about processor, it's been asked since always (:
It really depand on what you want to do with your computer
I would like an intel because it's better for what i want to do but you, i don't know

http://lifehacker.com/5151369/the-first+...om-scratch This might be able to help you. Building a PC is not as expensive as it sounds and has some very good advantages such as you choose what goes in it etc. I learnt to build one in college but I forgot a lot of things. Hope the guide helps you.

Well, the reason why I don't want to build it myself is because.. I simply don't have the time.... College is coming.. :\
(Edit) Oh I see, 2.6 is a bit slow?

I thought the 8 rams will prevent that lag.. D:

So everyone here is saying the whole computer is good and fast except the 2.6Ghz? :\

I would by an ivy bridge with intel HD 4000 and some good memorys (4 or 8GB 1666MHz)

but wdi is gpu eater and not processor eater (i could play it on a pentium 3 1GHz with a playable fps and a good gpu)

This isn't true... I run a 1.73~ GHz quadcore, every doom map on max settings runs perfectly fine because it's the video card that matters in that...

Heavy processors are for computers that run things like photoshop and/or 3D rendering stuff, you don't really need anything over 2.6GHz for gaming...
The VIDEO card is the key component in modern video gaming, and you have to make sure your PC stays cool etc.

1600*900
All the shaders, Trilinear 16x with HQN4X, nice sized OGL lights, I get about 900 FPS.
It's a laptop.
(I hate texture resizing and normally have it off though and I get around 1200 FPS like that, although I also VSYNC so...)

Uh, pardon, Software rendering is CPU only and thus it's pretty important for Doom if you play Software at all: the GPU has next to no part in Software as far as I know. Even then it would only be a problem on maps where Software struggles anyway, like WDI maps with 3d floors enabled.

GL mode is driven by the GPU and so you're right in that case

That's true in part, but *runs WDI map* I get way more FPS than I'll ever need with a 1.73GHz quadcore in software. You're doing something wrong if you're getting less than 700 with a 2.6Ghz (remember you could get 35 with a 386...)
Also, the AMD A6-Series is a quadcore 2.6.

Intel I7 extreeme combined with 2x nvidia gtx 640ti SLI. 32 gigs ram ddr3, 2x 512 7200 raid 1TB. 800 watt PSU, bare minimum.

why intel and nvidia? because they have the muscle to keep with the new A10 AMD piledriver setup which is a uped bulldozer only for labtop builds. they use less power. and with the right cooling setup less heat tension on the mainboard and cpu so the performance doesnt suffer.

yea it's going to e up there in price. but it's totally worth it.

An i7 ivy bridge with intel hd 4000 is good to start on the desktop, then you could change to a better gpu (hd 4000 is better than Radeon HD 6530D)

I built my comp in about a day so it doesn't take long. I spent about $900 on intel i5 2500k nvidia 560ti (golden sample) 8gb ram, though for what I do I think 4gb would probably have managed it. But yeah, building is the way to go.
